Do you see Christ in me? Some do, some don't, ...so what. Let me tell you, that I have seen christ in you, in your eyes, your smile, in the way you love those around you. I see the way you hold your child. I see you your smile, and I feel your embrace. In the work that you do, for the whole human race. No wonder he hears you when you pray, is alert and attentive to your call. For you are his child, the Father of all, no one is worthless, each unique and called. He does not call the qualified, when he calls. He qualifies the called, to the do work that;s been given. When he asks if you will follow: say "Here I am Lord" ready and willing. I am here to listen, look into your dreams as crazy as they may be, or simple and humble and filled with good deeds. We cannot do great things, only little acts with great love. I am humbled by your mercy, I am the prodigal child. I came home with nothing, and you embraced me and reminded me that no matter what I had done. Prepared a great feast to welcome me home: and my tears fell from my eyes through the tracks on my face. Not tears of pain, but happy tears interlaced. Does the world need justice from mark mcgwire, the guys hating on him on tv for admitting and taking responsibility for steroids are evil. Seriously take the log out of your own eye, before criticizing the plank in your brother's eye.

At least mcgwire has the will to take the punishment good or bad for his actions. He took the fifth in congress, and never lied about his usage. Now years later he has admitted to his sins or mistakes with roids and baseball.

Idiots on tv want him condemned, instead of recognized as someone who took responsiblity. He tried to work with congress during those hearings and they told him they would not grant immunity for his story. So he plead the 5th to protect his family.

We forgive people and we hate people as humans.

When the prodigal son comes home are you the dad who welcomes his son or daughter home. Or are you the jerk who says go back where you came from and never come back.. That jerk is the evil one motivated by the devil, who never learned how to forgive people for sins and give them a second chance.

So when you condemn mcgwire, just understand that you are condemning yourself as well. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Seriously Bud selig, the owners, coaches, and players are all complicit, sitting high and mighty. Nobody from the last 20 years should be in the hall of fame, but they should be allowed to work in baseball and take care of their family and tell the story of how a whole era of baseball was tainted by steroids...and that the next generation of players learned from those mistakes and tried to do it better.

The nfl and olympians from this era were all dealing with the same thing. Just nobody cares to make a big deal of the nfl roids like shawn merriman, or marion jones, or ben johnson...or whatever and whoever else. For some reason baseball is painted as the only sport to suffer from roids and illegal enhancement. Seriously like 50% of men or more over 55 are probably on a performance enhancer called "viagra" so get off your high horse and let people admit their mistakes and move on with their life.

Roids or no roids: mcgwire will make an outstanding hitting coach and maybe a manager some day for baseball teams at any level. He has seen and done everything good and bad that can be done as a major league slugger.

St Damien please intercede for Mark Mcgwire, one of your spartans. Please help Daryl Henley of the LA Rams as well, and his mistakes with illegal drugs, since he was also a damien spartan.

for me if I cook for someone, it would be nice if they did the dishes and cleaned up, and if they cooked then it would be nice and gentlemanly of me to do the dishes and clean up after the meal. I learned this watching my old unit head , doing dishes after parties and households. I admire and have learned this from him among other wonderful habits. I see cleaning the dishes, and the table, and putting away the sound equipment and chairs after clp as a way of saying thank you for all the work done in preparing the meals, and preparing the talks, music, food, and prayers for christian life programss at SFC and CFC.

I agree cooking is essential to marriage. Between 2 parents their must be enought money to buy groceries, and someone must be able to prepare enough food to feed and keep the couple and their kids alive and strong, so they can continue to serve the lord, without wondering if there is a place to sleep and food to eat for the rest of the day, week, or month.
I hate that feling of scrambling through desks and couches to see if I can round up enough coins to buy something off the dollar menu cause there are no groceries in the fridge. Have you ever had that feeling? Imagine doing that every day, that is when you decide if you are too proud to ask for help. And if help is offered to you are you willing to take it? Or do you say know I dont need help, or you wouldnt like me as a client, or stomp your feet, and cross your arms and say I dont want to change.

I have had assistance in getting to seattle and bethesday so I could participate in conference, and it changed my life both times. If I was too proud to admit it then I would never have heard those prayer sessions, or adoration, or the amazing talks and lessons, or built those friendships. Do you lift people up, or do you lean? Loose lips, sink ships. Gossip is time wasted, when you could be building up a friend instead of poisoning someone else against someone you have a grudge against. If you have a problem with someone go pull them aside and tell them to their face, and settle it like adults.
And when your trying to build up a business, you cant just wait for business to come to you, you have to go out and make it happen. If you are complacent your client will know, and find someone who is better qualified to take care of them. The same goes for men and women and their relationships, weddings, courtships and dating.

Let us begin with Matthew 6:33

when you want to get to know someone, meet them in a small group setting, obsere them among their friends, family, and when or if you have a chancs to work or serve together. Because then you will see their authentic personality. And if try to pull some crazy angelic stuff out, then their friends and family will call them out-- like since when did you do that for people?

then when your comfortable with each other and have talked you can invite them one on one. but it takes time so be patient. And my advise is dont really start courting someone until you are at least in college and have a strong sense of your self, your goals, dreams for the future, a strong prayer life, and direction. Because if the courting ends you still need to have a life. A relationship should strengthen both of you, not leave you weaker then when you started and met each other.

Men are called to initiate the relationship, and women will be the ones who have the role of accepting the invitation or not. If women want to initiate the relationship, it is ok with the modern age. But if you ask me, they are setting themselves up to be really hurt if they get rejected by the men.

Boys and Men are trained to get told no all the time. So it still hurts us, but that is way we are raised to be ready for. So we pray and discern and we choose one woman at a time to be someone we would want to be in a committed relationship with. Or at least that is how it is supposed to be. Some boys like to have multiple women, tell them they love all of them, and all they really want is intercourse from as many as possible. But that is not news to anybody: those are empty actions filled with a weak sense of self, and not valuing their own body as a gift to their future wife: which leads to adultery and impurity, and guilt and shame.

Men are taught to be pastors to their families, responsible for leading the prayer life, as well as providing shelter, food and as much as they can for the family. Cost of living is high enough these days, that often the extended family or the wife will need to help contribute and in many cases work to support the family.

Back to the topic: Women have a role to play in this as well. Since they have the power to accept or reject an invitation: then it is their decision to spend time with this man who is courting her. Or to gently let him know she does not feel that way about him. But honestly if you know this man to be a good person, and faithful to christ: but maybe he doesn't look like denzel washington then I would give the man 30-60 minutes of your time. Speak with him, and see if their is chemistry, can he make you laugh, cook good food, or just be someone you could be a good friend with. If you never give him a chance to know you, then you may have passed on the best husband that god could ever send to you because you judged him without ever allowing him to be in your midst and have a one on one conversation.

Again this would only be after you have seen him serve in the community, or go to mass regularly, or wherever you have spent time together with your friends and family. Do no judge a man solely on his body, just as you would not want a man who only judged you physically.

Women are lucky in that they may be courted by multiple men at the same time. Kinda like in sports when top recruits and academic honors students get offers from multiple universities. The schools offer different benefits: scholarships, better housing, better lifestyles, better facilities, professors, classrooms. Each man has different gifts and talents, prayers, time and treasure to offer a woman. And as women you get to choose and are allowed and really expected to do your research, pray about it, and dont be so quick to say yes to the first man who courts you....Take your time, enjoy being courted, but when one or multiple men propose to you, then pray about who you really want to spend your life with. Give every faithful man at least one hour to speak with you, and when you are ready then pray together and choose the best husband that god could ever provide for you. But if you are out there on the prowl asking boys out, some will say yes, some say no...but you will always know that you started this relationship, so if it goes bad how will you end it without really hurting this man? And are you really ready to take all that rejection. If you have every played baseball or softball then you will know that getting rejected is common: if you hit 3 out of 10 balls you are a superstar in baseball, and if you hit 1 out of ten balls out of the park as a home run then again that is a hall of fame player because in 500 at bats in a season that is 50 home runs: or greater than any home run hitter ever if you can do that your whole life. Or if your an actor if you book 1 out of every 10 auditions, then you probably dont even have to audition anymore, they just call and ask if you want the role. But most people dont understand how many rejections it takes to make a sale, hit a home run, score a knockout in boxing, hit a hole one on a golf course, get promoted to CEO, buy a house in a competitive market, get the only dress on sale on black friday at 5am in the morning, be voted president of a school or a country....or to become a husband or wife of a king or a queen that is faithful to the lord and will be your partner for life, and golden anniversaries, or through any financial, medical or spiritual distress. Finding that type of partner is worth more than anything to find a love that will sustain you and walk with you, and carry you when you are sick. Finding a woman or man who will love you as christ loves you is a gift from god. As the deer longs for running streams, so I long, so I long, so I long for you.

Me personally I like to know what is inside this woman, what gifts and talents does she possess. What is her prayer life these days, what will she teach my children if we get married. I like to see her eyes when I show up, when she sees me: does she light up, does she smile at me...Do I see a peacefulness in her when we are together, or a great joy that lights up the room because we are near each other....

And after that you need to know how you react with each other's close friends, and family....and if you feel comfortable then you can approach the woman's parents and ask for their blessing before you propose to serve, protect, love, sacrifice and give all of your life for your fiance...

Husbands are called to love their wife as jesus loved the church. And wives are called to accept their husband's leadership because if he has promised and delivered his love to you, then why would you question his motives or his intent to do everything he can to give you the best life possible.

Of course you can disagree, but disagree in a one on one setting. Dont embarass your husband or wife, by emasculating them in front of your families, friends, or even your children. That is humiliating and not a loving way to correct anyone.

Or if necessary then bring in a good counselor you both trust: maybe it is the grandparents, or a brother or sister, or a priest or doctor, a nun whatever it takes for the two of you to have a conversation. You should always pray when you have a disagreement, and then vent your frustrations between each other.

Work like everything depends on your effort, but trust that god will make all your dreams come true...and no matter what the lord will provide all that you ever need, but not always everything you desire. Many of us are guilty of having appetites that are eyes cling on to, but are more than our heart, mind, body, and spirit can handle.

And lastly Bo Sanchez taught me a great prayer: before he ever got married he promised himself and jesus to spend one date a week with his wife forever. And also to plan a date with each of his kids one day a week. God has blessed you with a family to pastor too. So the lord asks you for the sabbath on saturday evening to sunday evening to come join him for mass. And you as pastor to your family should provide at least one hour to each member of your clan each week, especially your wife. Don't give all your time to your kids and work and forget your wife or your husband: that leads to isolation, regrets, and sadly unfaithfulness.

Guard the heart of your partner, and their eyes and minds, and hands. By spending time with them regularly in person, and not just by email, webcam or phone. You should be able to give them a hug, a kiss, or just hold hands or embrace regularly...or somebody else will. Because if you chose a wonderful man or woman, and then you dont spend time with them, someone else will find this kayamanan (treasure) and take care of it while you are busy at work, or whatever your doing.

baseball...oh I thought it was basketball season already...hate the yankees: gotta root for philly: j-roll, howard, hamels, pedro, lee...I sold an insurance policy to greg dobbs a long time ago at auto club, when he was a mariner....go phillies, and the nba is starting tomorrow...lets go clippers :), if they make the playoffs I will stay with them...if they go into the lottery one more time in the next 3 years, then I will choose another team. Now if they trade for a lottery pick that is fine, but if they miss the playoffs even once in the next 3 years,I will choose a new team to root for: likely whoever kevin garnett, or dwight howard is playing for at that time....griiffin will be here for at least 3 or 4 seasons, and if their still lotto with blake, then I am out....

for kids who cannot see doctors now, for people with preexisting conditions that are not allowed to get insurance...for the baby boomer seniors who need care the most in their senior years...for small business that cannot get an affordable group option for their company because they are a small group from 1-50 employees.., for self employed people who can only get super high premiums for their care and their spouse and kids...for the unemployed....

reform is not for the people who can afford and happy with the status quo

reform is for the poor, the ignored, the homeless, and weak, the sick, for the lepers of this generation

saint damien cared for those dropped on an island away from society, reform is for them...as long as we protect the unborn, protect the moral choices of medical workers to abstain from abortion or contraception and euthanasia if their faith tells them that procedure is illegal...then I will support medical reform....and those are changes that need to be made in congress and the senate to the reform bills being voted on...

but this is the first president to make it a priority in his first 100 days, and making it the number 1 issue in america....and a major point in his campaign to get elected...if you dont like it, then present a better solution to the sick, poor, and uninsured victims of america...then I will listen to you....otherwise step aside and stop complaining or go elect someone else the next time..I made my vote for 2 men that wanted to change this country instead of sit on the status quo...obama and biden...I was so happy that biden brings a catholic viewpoint to obama as obama tries to be inclusive of the rest of america who used to be outcasts: the minorities, the poor, homosexuals, immigrants, the mentally ill, the abused, the prisoners, seniors and infants abandoned by their families....

3 new things this weekend for me

3 new things this weekend :) I was offered a yellow rasberry: sweet but not as tart as red rasberry....Also went an audition for the first time in years....and I went to my first catholic underground event: it started for in adoration at st victor in hollywood, then two artists performed manuel3.com, and pjkmusic.com. And in between there were cookies, water, tshirts, and 40daysofprayer flyers, as well as cds, and lots of chit chatting outside...A very mixed crowd of ages, ethnicities, and many smiling faces..And I saw bianca serrano there: and I havent seen in her since Randy and Kara's wedding.....usually just try to do 1 new thing a week, so this was a very eye opening weekend....and one kindness baking in the sun: two sisters offered me a it's it ice cream sandwich...very nice of them...stephanie and mona were really friendly....I am sad I was not able to attend the cfc/sfc assembly....that is the first one I have missed since I joined sfc in 2005...

way less texting for me :)

I just decided to use text messaging a lot less, I never used to use them, so I will try to leave more voicemail, cause phones are for people we want to talk to right? If I wanted to write to you I would just use email. The exception being if I am giving an address. I guess the most exciting thing for the news is the proclamation of the newest star....and the destruction of the most famous stars.....Does that sell, does that bring ratings...or does it just show how shallow we are....That we take pleasure in seeing someone beloved: crash and burn....

Massage the table with butter, olive oil, and, a towel and flour. Knead the table and push the ingredients to all edges of the table until it is soaked and thoroughly ready for a washing. Beads of sweat are all over the table and they stand like raindrops upon the surface.

Bring a fresh towel with clean tap water and refresh the table. A soft tablecloth should be placed over the table while the food is being cooked. A broth or soup filled with the best ingredients and aromas should percalate the room and give life to the air.

A solid sequoia spoon would be best, but any sturdy wood will suffice. Some prefer metals and in case of metal stainless or sterling is usually preferred. Please no rust in the soup.

The soup should have meat, veggies, spices, citrus drops, sugar, and anything else like grains that would help create a wonderful meal for the guests. The amount of soup will carry the day and lead to a long or short meal. It is always possible to add more salt and water to the soup if necessary.

Slowly stir the soup and let the bubbles rise to the surface, bit by bit. The steam on the edge of the spoon handle gives the smell and feeling that is necessary to know that the meal is ready and that the table can be given the food.

The table has to be prepared for an excellent meal. It is necessary to have a colorful cotton cloth that is soft and water resistant and helps the table absorb moisture. In case the soup is spilled. Sometimes the ladle will drip bits of soup during the meal. It is vital that the table will not be wrecked by the soup. A stain is very possible but it is easy to clean with soap, water and a laundry machine.

After a full meal it is necessary to rest and recover so that it is possible to eat again. Keep the table in the best condition and it will always be possible to eat whenever necessary. It might be necessary to prep the table again before eating, but it is such an easy process that it is fun to prepare the table for meals.

The effect of such a soup, table, ladle and sweat can provide wondrous results for the bodies involved. Anybody that eats such a meal will feel that they can accomplish anything that they need to accomplish that day. I live for the day when the spoon can stir a soup so tenderly for a special meal such that would bring me to a peak of joyous exercise and miraculous moments of satisfaction and pleasure for a day well done and fully acceptable to the Lord.

I always enjoy meals because they are the basis for motivation and survival. Food on the table is a blessing for all people that eat of such sultry and tasty wonders. I pray for meals that inspire me to appreciate effort, work, and rest.

got to get this stuff out before I forget it all

Teachers do not get paid enough for the hours and commitment they need to make, problems is some do not make the necessary commitment to love those children as if they were their own.

If education is to be a top priority then they should be paid as much as we pay our entertainers and our creators of culture and products.

Children are the most important resource we have, and they need to be protected and guided through their early years. So in the stead of parents who are busying generating income for their families we must have teachers that are willing to care for these children as if they were parents of those children.

The only way to attract the best teachers is to pay them what they are worth. If you do not pay them enough to care for their own families then how can you expect them to make their students a top priority.

Besides pay teachers need resources and support of the administration the community and the parents. They need involvement on all levels for there to be effective education.

If the teachers are abandoned and alone then they will be defensive instead of proactive and leaders within their own room.

If the teachers are happy then the students will be calmer and confident about themselves. It is reciprocal, the students feed the teacher and the teacher feeds the student. The teacher needs to pass on their expertise and also learn from the students because they have some knowledge and experiences that the teacher has never seen or felt regardless of age.

There will always be reasons to share and continue to learn, if their is nothing more to teach then the student and teacher must seperate find new experiences then come back and share them with each other again.

Learning must be continuous.

Tenure is an awful thing as well because it creates lazy teachers. If there is no chance for losing your job then there is no reason to work harder to improve yourself. This applies to principals and teachers and students.

If students do not work they should fail, and eventually be forced to leave school if they do not want to participate.

If administrators cannot manage the money and resources of the school in a healthy way to maximize opportunities for the teachers and students then they should be removed from their position.

If teachers continually have negative responses from students and parents then they should be removed or at least moved to a different position. If students and parents do not like the results then they need to seek new and better teachers.

Longevity should not determine pay. Just cause you do something a long time does not mean you are good at it.

Now if you put in many good years of service as a student, teacher or administrator then you should be protected in your old age, because if you do not stay sharp you may lose some of your skills and need assistance whether that assistance is physical, financial, mental, or spiritual depends on the needs of the person.

And it is not just an age thing, everyone has needs and strengths at different times. But to get the most from our schools and our children we must utilize the strengths of our business and we must pool our talents to pick up for the weaknesses we may posess as individuals. Each school is a team, each class is a team and it must be treated like that.

The best teams coordinate their talents towards one goal, the problem with schools is that everyone has different goals. I believe the main goal for schools should be to maximize the talents of each student and give them time to nurture their individual talents in a supportive environment. Not everyone is going to be good at reading and math, but those are basic skills that will help in most situations. Each student must study as hard as possible to learn all the knowledge that they want to know. And they must be exposed to as much information as possible so they can decide what they think will best serve them in life. Every skill and muscle needs to be trained and developed, stimulated at different rates otherwise the skill or the muscle will atrophy and you will lose some of those talents. You can use tools to accentuate those skills at times or to help in the learning process, but each individual needs those at different times and for different purposes. You need to seek people that have those skills and that knowledge. Those people may be living or dead, near or far. You can talk to them, read their books, watch them, listen to them, touch them, think about them, but you must seek them out if you wish to attain any of their knowledge. Each moment and each thought is special and part of the growing process.

I have always believed that I could always learn more and always improve, always adapt to new situations if given guidance, opportunities or necessities or desire to learn. The only limits are the ones we put on ourselves through experience. Sadly other people try to put limits on other people because they have found those to be their limits. You can warn other people of the limits you have found, and if they trust you they will use those as a guideline. But if they do not trust you they will do whatever they please because they do not believe you usually because your words and your actions are contradictory.

A unique summer in Los Angeles energizes me. Every summer until 1998 was the same, ever full of sun, dry heat and lazy days that dominate the landscape of southern california. This year, trucks drop lemons on the freeway outside my house. A sweet aroma eminates as they are crushed by the trucks and cars that slow down as they pass, carefully squeezing the juice into the air.

Lightning showers extend from LAX to riverside on my way home from the airport. Purple, yellow, blue and white flashes come and go in the absence of thunder. The crackling strings of light remind me of the dazzling lightning I used to draw on my folders in school, when I used to wear maui&sons shorts and T-shirts. Lightning showers often hover over the La Verne horizon, but never stretched all the way to the coast like tonight. When I reach my home in San Dimas, I faintly hear rumblings of thunder. My dog was not scared, so the thunder was far from me. The heat continued into the night, occasional rain droplets fell within the lightning storm. In the middle of the storm, I reveled in nature`s awesome display of anger and change. The lightning lit a blaze that burned for hours in Riverside.

Los Angeles was humid today. After 25 years of dry heat, I felt as though I was in the tropical Philippines or on the east coast of Florida again. I spend most of my days in Eastern San Gabriel Valley.

Little wonder that my area has peculiar weather. A few years ago when I was an undergrad at UCLA, the San Dimas post office was covered by a thin sheet of snow. The pictures still hang in the post office, and that is the only reason I believe the stories. Today a tornado watch centers in Pomona headed west towards Whittier and Montebello. I wonder if it will swing north by my home. The world seems upside down this year. The stormy events of the last days are the culmination of a summer filled with rainy days like never before. Of course the weather forecasters incorrectly predicted flooding this summer, but we definitely had rain, and a generally colder, murky summer. El nino, the name given to the weather this year, brought us a climate never seen by these eyes before.

In grade school, more than 10 years ago, winds of change came to town. The giant palm trees in the church were blown down. All kinds of debris were blown past the doors to my classroom, and past us while we drove on the street. That is why I studied tornados for my 8th grade science project and made one with a glass box, and some heated water vapor. My air conditioner produces the same wild moving vapor on these stormy days if I leave my window open. I assume the heat of the air conditioner or the engine is creating vapor which blows through my a/c. At first I feared that smoke was coming from the engine, but there was no smell for this visible air. After having a cylinder crack in my old sky blue `83 Accord in 1993, I was not taking any chances with this car. The last time I saw smoke in a car, it was flowing like a giant grey wall behind me, and out of the gaps in the front hood. I was so embarassed to be put-putting my pathetic car through downtown Berkeley looking for a place to park or a gas station to bury my dying car. So I immediately slowed, clicked of the a/c and felt better when the vapor subsided.

Speaking of burning cars, I have to thank my guardian angel for showing my friend Matt Yeazel the sparks coming from his hood when I was in high school. I was sleeping on my way home from a long debate tournament. I hear "wake up Ron, wake up, the car is burning." We are all freaking out as we are actually on the offramp to our houses only a few miles from that spot. We pulled over, and the four of us jump out of the car. Matt frantically curses and horridly watches his car start to burn from the front end near the windshield. The flames grew and engulfed the whole front hood and torched the dashboard and windshield. There were no explosions that I remember, but there were a lot of sparks and flames. I don`t remember if I was laughing then. But every time after that I think of it I bust up. A few months later, Matt backed into a station wagon while I was in his mom`s minivan. He doesn`t like to give me rides anymore, he likens me to the black plague when I am a passenger in his car.

This year, a couple of people died in a way I never imagined would happen to anyone. A giant tree in Claremont was uprooted during a windy, rainy day and collapsed on their car while they were stopped at the intersection. That is an awful way to perish. I hope they died quickly, I wonder what they must have been thinking as or after it happened. Gruesomely, I cannot help but giggle a little, because it just seems so absurd. It forces me to stay alert while driving through sleepy Claremont on my way to the university.

The Angels are in the thick of things for the playoffs in September. They actually have a legitimate chance of competing this year after beating some of the top teams in the AL. I have been an angel fan for a long time, because anaheim stadium is closer than dodger stadium. Then there is Mcgwire, my Damien high school alumni, and Sosa who are crushing balls out of major league parks. This is definitely a special summer. Not to mention me getting into graduate school a few months before summer began. Many odd, and good things have happened this year. This is definitely not an ordinary day. What lies ahead?

Flash Forward to the spring of 99, or shall we say the late winter. Mark and Sammy are still crushing balls in Florida and Arizona before the season starts. The NBA has had the first strike ever, timely since the most dominant player ever decides to leave. He is gone so the league reverently shuts its doors for a few months to honor him. None of the owners want to pay to open the buildings since their current rosters won`t fill the stadiums like the old Bulls used to, or get the ratings that a dynasty can bring to television.

Speaking of that late winter, talk about freaky weather. It is snowing west of Mount Baldy. Unheard of, people skiing in Snow Summit in April. I have heard of May showers, but not snow in southern Cali in the springtime. Easter snow, how refreshing. Arrowhead Lake celebrates Easter with snowball fights. Guess hell is freezing over as we head into the millenium.

The worst part about this amazing spring is that I am spending it alone. I have no love of my life to get freaky with this spring as we head into Y2k, armaggeddon, apocalypse or the best damn new year`s party ever. I wish I had a cuddly lady to hang out with for what may be the last mating season ever

Life will go on, but it would be tremendous to have a baby born on the millenium. Guess I am just in a baby-makin mood. Play me a little Barry White please.

Unique weather seems to bring out all the special things in life. I will remember the rain storms, the spring snow, the tornadoes, snow in San Gabriel Valley. All the freaks of nature that hit my hometown in East San Gabriel Valley. Home of the archangel Gabriel watching over us between the Big Bear Mountains and the smoggy downtown 10 freeway. This is probably the first spring I can remember it being colder in Los Angeles than in New York because of the cold fronts and warm fronts and wind currents blowing as they are. The end of the century is going out in style. A blaze of glory, snow, and rain pours down.

I assume this summer may be the hottest ever. I would not be surprised if the continents shift a couple of inches. A cleansing of the earth before time starts anew. Mother Earth reborn, preparing and watching as governments decide on whether or not they will bring another land war to bloody the fields of Yugoslavia in the name of freedom, land acquisition, democracy, technological military prowess(we didn`t build the stealth bombers for nothing ) and financial gain.

Earth is ready to be reborn and start a new millenium. Will we build a new heaven on earth? Our best and brightest singers are preaching of angels and prayer, spirituality and love. Or will we destroy it before the new millenium ever starts? It is in our hands.

The things of this world, are aiming so far away from god. We allow and give each other the freedom to do anything, even the actions that the bible say are sinful and destroy our relationships with each other and the people around us.

So often we lie to each other, or gossip and spread bad news about others. Instead of building people up we tear them down out of spite, or jealousy, or just cruelty.

We encourage people not to sleep and get their necessary rest. We fill our nervous, sad, depressed moments for drugs and other items that kill brain cells. So we take energy pills, cigarettes, alcohol, soda, coffee, tea to keep us awake longer, when what we really need is a proper nutrition plan, and a good 6-8 hours of sleep every day to recover from the prior day's work. We feel anxiety about problems, and relationships, financial challenges. We are losing our homes, have huge loans, credit companies and collection companies calling all day, every day. We are needing the government to come in and regulate industries that encouraged horrible investments, that are now turning into foreclosures, and bankruptcy.

The world is hurting and sick. We are filled with so much anger, lust, pride, and lack of concern for people in this world: in our backyards who are struggling each day to find a place to sleep, food to eat, a shower to clean up, a job they can make money from, disablities of physical and mental without proper healthcare. So many children go untreated and other adults are disqualified from health care because of price, or preexisting conditions, or lack of a job and employer who can make it affordable. And health care crisis are the most common way for american famlies to have to turn to bankruptcy if a member has a condition that requires tons of expensive procedures or inpatient care. Cancer being one of the most common with the expensive chemotherapy, or heart surgery, brain surgery.

We are so quick to respond with anger, when someone does wrong to us, or we percieve they have done us wrong. And with our tools for violence so advanced now, many of us own firearms that can turn a disagreement into murder, or death, and send us into imprisonment here and a life in purgatory or worse a life in hell....People take out their anger on their family, friends, children, strangers and even classmates and office co-workers. That is on a micro level between people, but now so many countries have or desire nuclear and chemical weapons, and are experimenting with submarines and missiles, so they can be considered a threat and gain respect. If they really desired it, one missile could beget an onslaught of missiles and truly bring an end to life on this planet for most us, because of pride and anger between governments. We already know what it looks like , just go look up video on world war 2, and the annihilation of life in japan from american bombs..

Being underappreciated and underpayed, as many people feel leads to frustration, tension, and often violence or loneliness. Loneliness often turns into isolation, and a confused a crazy response to a lack of hope in the future....but we have not been brought to this place and time for woe, we were perfectly placed here and in this place because god is preparing us for a life full of hope and love. (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

Women and young boys are being stolen away from their families in many countries and forced to participate in labor or even worse trafficking or prostitution, or pornography. Some poeple choose that kind of work. But many of these children are forced to do it by people who took away their passports, or took them away to other countries where their family cannot find them. Or they threaten to hurt their children or relatives if they do not participate in type of work. And they become objects to be used by men and women who have a low self esteem, and are unable to find healthy relationships.

And all of these stripclubs, escorts, prostitutes, rape, and adultery often lead to disease, broken marriages, broken hearts, and disease, and can be fatal through hiv or aids. And contraception encourages these behaviors, while at the same time devaluing our own gift of our body. Our body is a temple of the holy spirit, and each day god is preparing us to be our best to do the work we have chosen, vocations, blessed single life, or to present ourselves to a god's gift in married life through a husband or wife. If you have already fallen and given away your virginity, go speak to a spiritual director or pastor, and ask them for forgiveness, so god may work on your heart and renew you in a new life from today on. Let god heal you and restore your faith, so the next time you have someone to love, that you will include christ in your prayers and in your relationship. Where two or three are gathered in your name there I will be with you, is what jesus has taught us.

The men and women who are ripped, have a sixpack, or eightpack, or are extremely athletic, fast, or strong, or have great endurance have all worked very hard for these abilities.

Most americans sit most of the day at a desk, dont make time for exercise, take elevators instead of stairs, come home and watch tv, while eating cheetos or candy. Then they dont sleep enough to let their bodies rest. And they dont plan out when and what they will eat on a weekly basis, and end up at fast food restaraunts, or at the candy machine in their office when they get hungry....then when they actually eat they make poor choices of food, becaue their body is starving...

my best tips to reduce body fat percentage quickly
1. no soda, no diet soda
2. no juice unless it is less than 25 calories per serving
3. dont eat anything that is higher than 30% of daily allowance in saturated fat
4. one day a week have the specific food reward you need to not go crazy, or even better go buy something for yourself to treat yourself after getting leaner...new shirt, blouse, dress, jeans, a dvd, exercise equipment or dvds, smaller belts :)
5. eat more fish, and chicken or turkey: and less red meat
6. convert all of your processed carbs, white flour items into wheat or brown versions because they have fiber which cleans out your system, the processed stuff lingers in your body and increases your waist, hips and abdomen. So get brown rice, wheat pasta, wheat bread, wheat tortillas
7. more fruits and veggies
8. if you go out to eat, and spend more than 10 dollars on the meal, then likely you have bought enough food for two meals. eat half, and take half home, eat it 3 hours later, or the next morning for lunch or breakfast
9. tea is good for digestion, and has caffeine for the morning
10. eat protein within 30 minutes of your workout, and 30 minutes prior eat some carbs,
11. a bowl of fruit, a yogurt, some nuts, trail mix, granola bars, smoothies with protein, protein bars....make great midday snacks
12. hydrate all day, drink a bottle of water every hour or so at work, probably 8 bottles per day would be outstanding...I just refill my bottles after I use them with water normally from the tap, or if I am at home our fridge has filtered water..brita is good for this. I also know a great performance water that is used by the owner of the orlando magic basketball team in the nba
13. eat 3 solid meals, biggest meal should be breakfast and have 2 to 3 snacks from #11, and you should eat every 3 hours
14. last workout, and have a trainer teach you proper technique so you dont get injured, and so it will be a more effective and long lasting results, instead of some bizarre diet like only eating protein, and no carbs...or cleansing your body with tea and basically fast for a week...

My theory is that most people who are overweight dont do any of these things in this article...So turn off, or cancel your cable tv, and invest in yourself, your long term health. one day you may be blessed with children and grandchildren, dont you want to mobile and strong and able to play with these gifts from god? they will need to shutdown dwight without double teaming him, to beat the magic. If they have to double him, then they will have guys out there that shoot threes all day long. If bynum was not injured, he could probably slow down howard. But he is surely playing hurt from the tape I am watching. And fisher will have to slow down skip to my lou on pick and rolls. So far I have seen fisher getting beat a lot of pick and rolls and trying to stay with younger point guards: like and aaron brooks.
I love whole magic/lakers question...What would have happened if shaq stayed in orlando with penny, and dennis scott. Maybe the magic would have 3 titles instead of the lakers. Most teams get a all star center once every 10 years if they are lucky. But as basketball has always been, if you have the best center in the league, there is a good chance you will be in the finals every year. Last year garnett was the best defenisve center/pf in the nba. Shaq and Duncan, and Olajuwon won most of the titles outside of MJ and Pippen. Magic Johnson had the captain abdul jabbar, and Parish, Mchale and Bird were able to dominate games from the frontline...

Now Dwight gets his shot to dominate, and he is surrounded with the perfect compliment to the low post offense, 5 guys who canstick it from the outside at a 35-45% success rate. If turkolgu and lewis drive to the basket after pump fakes at the perimeter they will be able to go to the free throw line. for me the key to the magic winninng would be if lee and pietrus can keep kobe from getting the ball in places where he is comfortable. If pietrus in particular can just make kobe work a little harder than normal, then the magic will have a good shot to be ahead at the end of the game.

I just like Dwight, I see how much fun he has, seen how creative his mind is from his dunk competitons, and his impressions of his coach. And guys that put up 20pts and 20 rebounds, are very few if ever found in the league, and then a guy who can block 5 shots a game and alter another 5....
if he can figure out how to improve his free throws, and make good passes then it could be a couple years of dwight vs lebron in the playoffs every year..

And some say kobe is unstoppable, well the magic just beat the cavs and the league mvp.. Let kobe score as much as he wants, and shut down the other four guys on the floor. Evev kobe cant score 110 by himself every game. Dont double kobe, and dont let him have any shooters to kick it out to.

dont get me wrong, gasol, farmar, ariza, and bynum, walton, are all guys I would enjoy seeing them have success... but I am very intrigued to see how this finals will go. I bought a howard jersey like 2 years ago, well technically it was given to me, they bought it in the philippines and brought it back for me :)

well to be fair, the expos, or current nationals are pretty horrid, and if you can trade a bad team for a team with a chance to win than I would do that...but tex left a playoff team, sabathia left a team that had a chance to win in the indians, burnett probably made a good move, I dont think toronto could win with that division...

but seriously the dodgers won in 88 mostly with homegrown talent, same with the angels in 2002, I think the phillies were not even favored over the mets, but they cultivated guys like howard, rollins and hamels...I believe more teams win the world series with a strong farm system, rather than dropping big contracts on star players...And if you play for a team that wont pay like florida, then yeah take the money and run

but even vladdy does not make anything like what aroid took to come to new york and abandon a mariners team that was really good and a contender at the time, griffey wanted to go home to cincy, but seattle was really good before randy johnson, griffey and arod left

gotta do what you gotta do...i just hate that some teams can buy wins like the yankees, and others like the pirates, and royals, and marlins tend to to have multiple seasons in a row with no chance of even gettin to the playoffs...I prefer salary caps, just to keep the playing field more balanced, and if the league is profitable then just keep raising the cap, to give the players their fair share of the profits....so the ownership, the city, and the players and fans can see a competitive team with a chance to win their division at least, if not the world series....the nba and nfl are very good about that, I think even hockey has a cap...

but soccer has that problem too, certain teams can spend more, and attract teams of all stars like manchester united, barcelona, ac milan... and then everyone else for the most part...if you like dynastys then fine, no cap, but if you like your home team to have some hope of winning a title than salary cap for sure, so at least all gms and coaches are playing with the same lego set, when they build their franchise

right now two thirds of baseball is building with hay, and wood, while the top teams: angels, red sox, yankees are building with bricks every year

and once in a blue moon the marlins, phillies or rays build a contender, but can they maintain that, is the question

yogurt is pretty healthy as far as sweets go. I went to a pinkberry and thought it was pretty good.

Like 6 of us were down at the block of orange and ordering and sharing and taste testing each others's choices...while we walked around the mall with deisen, joseph, j yumul, mai, and me :)

But yesterday I tried yogurtland, and I have to say I like yogurtland much more than pinkberry, still yogurt and toppings, but for them they weigh it by the ounce and let you take anything you want, as much or little as you prefer

I mixed mango and banana fosters yogurt, then a small portion of fruit: kiwis, mango, blueberry, blackberry, and some diced almonds...

Tim and I were in rowland heights and stopped there to eat the other day on the way while we were driving.

looks like we need to bump up patrick's clutch rating for nba2k9 :)...Both teams showed a ton of heart. I saw two guys from sfc south blue, play so hard that they got dehydrated and cramped during the overtime....It was an amazing game, the east was down like 10 points at one point, by the second half it was tied and gone to overtime. But nobody could gain an advantage in the overtime. By this time the two bigs on the east were fouled out: Erwin and Herbie. So the east had a much smaller lineup. Jun Sybang was able to stick around with 4 fouls for most of the second half, and he nailed a big three pointer in the second half. Ed Macatula and Erik Sybang played some good pressure defense with Miro and Patrick. Kim was out there hustling as well as Alduwin running after rebounds and loose balls. I have videos from the end of the game and overtime. I will try to post them soon. I am glad patrick could win this game at the end, cause the prior game he came like a few inches short of winning with his game ending three pointer. Both teams showed a ton of heart. I am very proud of both the south and the east. Number 30 on he south was tearing it up in the first half, draining threes and getting to the foul line. Lianne got in there as well to mix it up in this game. And I know some of the other teams are not getting their strong sisters into the game, so I honor the south for using everyone on the roster. We had some sisters on our roster, but I havent seen them at the games. Well one of them did not finish the clp, cause a family member passed away. Hopefully we can get them into the games in the next tournament.

Wow and then the mob scene after the game, a huge dogpile on top of the east team...:) and a ending prayer together with both teams. This is the way it is supposed to be, no matter win or lose we still keep our chapters together through prayer. The glory goes to our lord. Just leave everything on the floor, and then there are no regrets for either squad.

Its like almost everyday someone I know has a birthday this month....and of course march madness I thought was for basketball, but now I am thinking it just a monthlong party full of birthdays.....my sister, maritess, and my cousin, jj, are having their birthday today. Tomorrow at night we are gonna go do rock and bowl in the evening with my sister's friends. If you want to bowl just give me a call and I will let you know where to meet us. Take care....

me he lost about 30 pounds since then. And I know not everyone can afford a personal trainer, but

I want to be able to help you as much as I can, especially my brothers and sisters in singles for christ, and couples for christ.

This time of year people make wishes, but those wishes need a set plan to help them, or it will

just become words with no follow through.

This article is basically the first half hour that I spend with my clients. 3 or 4 years ago I was weighing in

at 165 or 170 and at my height that is pretty chubby. I was wearing size 34 pants at that time.

I knew I had to do something, so I got a nutrition plan from my friend rodrigo at 24 hour fitness.

And I worked out and learned to eat, I slowly but surely got in better shape. I believe I was in my best

shape at 25, I was about 145 and very lean. But now, 10 years later, I have gotten down to 135, which

for basketball has been good, cause I am getting way more steals in the passing lanes then I could

at my old size, because I was slower then. I still get carded when I go to casinos and restaraunts or clubs.

And most people dont guess my age. I still get cast as a high school student when I go do background

work for films, or even when I get an audition for a real acting job with a speaking part....

pesto spaghetti with mushrooms and scallops :my recipe for dinner I made for our household last night

I made a pesto spaghetti, with mushrooms and scallops

fry a pan of olive oil, sprinkle in some basil and oregano, and garlic salt (or chopped garlic and a little bit of sea salt..

after a few minutes throw in the scallops, mushrooms and pesto sauce, and maybe a third of a cup of water, you can even squeeze a little bit of lemon or calamansi onto the scallops

I got my pesto sauce from trader joes, it is a small bottle but perfect for one meal

I went to seafood city the other day and found a big bag of frozen scallops for like 4 dollars, they have great deals on seafood, others places might charge like 10 bucks for a similar amount of scallops

so continue to cook until the sauce is warm

simultaneously you want to boil a pot of water, add a little salt and olive oil so the noodles dont stick to the pan. Add your wheat spaghetti once the water is already boiling

I used wheat spaghetti, the way I know it is ready, is to throw one noodle at the wall, if it sticks to the wall then the pasta is done, if it falls to the floor, then it is still gonna be hard and not taste that good

I lived in an apartment on my own for a year down in costa mesa, so I started by asking my dad for some basic recipes, and after that I just started experimenting with what tastes good to me. Or things I find in my fitness magazines and in books. I am able to cook, especially when I dont have enough money to go out for a meal. I enjoy cooking for friends. If I am gonna cook, then someone else should do the dishes :)

voices of love to save the lives of preborn children, and the souls of their parents

One picture that stood out was a pregnant woman and her man holding her tummy. Because women do not have babies alone, and often we put the burden of having an abortion on the woman. As they say it takes two to tango..

We need stronger men, who can have a pure heart, and be willing to take responsibility for the children they bring into this world. And preferably only in the sacrament of marriage, so that jesus will be in the center of all their decisions together as a couple. I went to mass at 5pm at holy innocents, before the concert. And the pastor ended mass with the prayer of st michael the archangel. That is when I knew that I was in the right place. St Michael defends god's people from the evil spirits in this world.

The concert was so powerful. I picked up a packet that gave explanations and information about abstinence, chastity, how to live chastity, the value of chastity. The singers and dancers were glorious, sharing their talents with the community and speaking all the truths about love, hurts, pain, joy and all the emotions and actions that people go through in courting for the singles and marriage for the couples.

We were all given 4 gifts as we walked in the door: a white bracelet " life is the choice", a pink bracelet "voices of love 09", a program with names of sponsors, dancers, singers, and organizers with pictures of them as well as the song list, and a purity card. The card is a covenant with the lord to live with a pure heart, to avoid lust, pornography, premarital sex, abortion, and adultery. And if you are not pure, then let today be the beginning of your covenant with god.

The films going on in the background were great as well, as men and women were talking about their love lives. And many were victorious in that even though they might have had a hard break up, that god had planned a greater love for them. For love is patient, and not self serving. I saw pics of so many community members, that are now happily married, and some that have children now as well.

The message was so clear to me. God has sent the archangels to protect us, and help us to purify our hearts, so that we may court and love our god's gifts with a pure love that will last until death do us part. And the message is also for those pursuing a religious vocation to live with a pure heart, so you can nurture the whole community as a nun or pastor. I also have some videos of the first couple song sets, but my memory card filled up pretty quickly, so I only was able to get those movies and a few pics.

Look into your hearts, are you ready to love, sacrifice and serve your god's gift. Or are you still not ready, and still too self serving to be someone's partner. I saw two of our latamarie missionaries at the event: bonn and khyme. I heard they are off to the philippines very soon, after two years of evangelizing and developing CFC/SFC/YFC leaders in south america: costa rica, panama, peru, and nicuragua.

At the end everyone started dancing and just enjoying the evening. I sat by myself and was praying in the back. I was reflecting on the whole weekend, and taking in all the desires of my own heart to have a partner and a family in the future. Fiat: let your will be done unto me Lord. God has a plan for all of us, especially the children who might be aborted in the future. May our offerings help parents to provide for their children, or give them to families that desire to adopt a precious gift from god.

I felt very blessed to be in attendance at this amazing concert. I wanted to thank all of you who practiced and prepared such a wonderful prayer to our lord. Even the dancing was done with a live band afterwards, that is pretty sweet. No mp3s needed for that, they just jammed out live. It would be great if the concert staff, can post the videos from the concert on youtube,veoh, or godtube to share with everyone.

How do we live with pure hearts in preparation for marriage or celibacy or religous vocation: Thomas Aquinas tells us to do it "joyfully, easily and promptly." Take it day by day, it is lent, so start with lent. If you can be pure for lent, then that daily prayer and choice, can become a habit and a lifestyle that you will be able to maintain for the rest of your life.

dating reminds me of baseball

The season begins in the spring. Everyone works out to get in their best shape to perform and play their best in the games.

And the only way you ever hit the ball, is to take a swing. If you never swing the bat then very likely you will never get a hit or a date.

once common thought process for poeple who cannot find dates is this:"If I risk and fail I will end up looking and feeling bad, but if I don't try at all I have no chance of failing." This type of thinking leads to inaction, and inaction is the greatest enemy of people looking for a date.

god teaches us to be brave to be fearless. If your a man, and you are spending time around people you enjoy, then you can observe them as they work through difficulties and trials. You will find out if they get upset easily, if they are violent, if they say words that are laced with hatred. Andy you will also find out who has a personality that is attractive to you, and makes you want to draw close to that person.

If you have hobbies, go out and do them, and invite your friends, and that special someone to join you there. If he or she shows up, then that would be a great time to talk with them and enjoy the event.

I find that smiles are the best way to know if a woman wants to talk to you. Cause if you smile at her and she smiles back, then that could start a conversation. But if you smile at her, and she quickly turns away, or frowns, or does not smile back, then my advice is to just move on.

Pick places and events that will attract other people that are single, or have similar interests, or faith. I highly recommend trying to find a partner with the same religion or faith, otherwise the kids will be confused as to which faith to follow.

Ask your friends and family for recommendations. They may know a great person who would be good for you.

you can get a dog, and walk it around town, or go to a dog park...If you are a dog person, this is a great way to meet another dog lover.

And clean up and make sure your appearance is the best it can be when you know that special person may be at the same place as you. If you are stinky, or messy it makes it way harder to be attractive to the opposite sex.

I am pretty relaxed when I go out, normally athletic gear cause that is what I wear with my clients. But you can keep some lotion and cologne with you to freshen up. And when it is a big event, then I am more than happy to grab a suit, tie, barong, or whatever is appropriate for a formal event.

But yeah so take a couple swings, for whoever knocks the door will be opened unto you. If she turns you down, then maybe she was never the one meant for you. Or if you call, or message her and she never returns your call or messages, that is also a signal that getting back to you is not a priority for her right now.

And if your married, please observe, and help lead us and give good counsel. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own life, that we dont realize someone perfect for you is right there, and wants to talk to you.

We can always make excuses: she lives to far away, he is not tall enough, he doesnt have the latest technology, she is overweight, she likes movies and music that I dont like, she smokes to takes drugs, or he drinks way to much and still trys to drive home

Honestly all of these reasons are temporary situations, and could change very easily. Just understand that none of us are perfect, we all have comitted sins in our heart, thoughts, words, and actions we failed to do.

But who is this person that you desire, is he the same faith, is he or she lukewarm in their faith.

My grandma gave me great advice. I had a girl I was spending time with, and I thought their might be a good connection. My grandma only asked me one questions: is she catholic?
And that summed it up for me, she didnt care about education, or athletics, or beauty, or talents, race, class, how much money they had or make at their job. And I took that lesson to heart. Everything is in flux all the time, but if you share the same religion you will have a better chance of building a life together: teaching your kids your faith, and make your union a way to evangelize your children, their friends and your coworkers.

If you married this man or woman, would you empower each other to do more of god's work on this planet because you are together. If not then maybe this is not the right choice for you.

So take a swing, hit the ball, and run full speed. Pursue the with the best effort, and try to make it all the way home so your team can win the game.

I FIND IT INTERESTING THAT A HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CAN SEE THE PROBLEM, BUT OUR SOCIETY CANNOT. IF I OFFEND ANYONE BY THIS, I REALLY DON'T APOLOGIZE.

Subject: Tennessee Football

This is a statement that was read over the PA system at the football game at Roane County High School , Kingston , Tennessee , by school Principal, Jody McLeod

"It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country."

Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it "an alternate lifesty le," and if someone is offended, that's OK.

I can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, "safe sex." If someone is offended, that's OK.

I can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a "viable! means of birth control." If someone is offended, no problem...

I can designate a school day as "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess "Mother Earth" and call it "ecology.."

I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as "simple minded" and "ignorant" and call it "enlightenment.."

However, if anyone uses this facili ty to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated.

This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical.

Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everyth ing and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments.

Nevertheless , as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical... I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally. I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression.

For this reason, I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this time.

" However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM,in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do so.As far as I know, that's not against the law----yet."

One by one, the people in the stands bowed their heads, held hands with one another and began to pray.

They prayed in the stands. They prayed in the team huddles. They prayed at the concession stand and they prayed in the Announcer's Box!

The only place they didn't pray was in the Supreme Court of the United States of America- the Seat of "Justice" in the "one nation, under GOD."

Somehow, Kingston , Tennessee Remembered what so many have forgotten. We are given the Freedom OF Religion, not the Freedom FROMReligion. Praise GOD that HIS remnant remains!

fighting a bad habit or addiction: 6 stages of change

many people have a bad habit or addiction that they want to change. But trying to stop completeley and go cold turkey is very hard, and will likely lead to a relapse in the old behaviro or addiction.

here is an article that explains the stages people go through to make a meaningful change in behavior.

I went through this with drinking soda. It took a long time for me to stop drinking soda, and I found that it had a positive change in my waistline. Then I gave up eating foods high in saturated fats, like barbecue ribs, or butter, some ice creams. I no longer eat foods that have a saturated fat percentage over 30% per serving. When I go shopping I just wont get them. I often choose foods based on the amount of saturated fat when I am in the grocery store. To protect my cholesterol levels. And there are other lustful behaviors that I used to be captive to as well, and you will no longer find me in those places. If you avoid locations or thoughts that lead directly to sin, then you slowly change your thoughts and your habits. I even learned to avoid high stakes gambling. I used to love gambling, and I still do, but now I only do it with extra money, I wont gamble money that affects my gas, food, or rent money. I even had to relearn how to eat, how much to eat, and when to eat. And this change, helped me to change my body.

Understanding Change

Physicians should remember that behavior change is rarely a discrete, single event. Physicians sometimes see patients who, after experiencing a medical crisis and being advised to change the contributing behavior, readily comply. More often, physicians encounter patients who seem unable or unwilling to change. During the past decade, behavior change has come to be understood as a process of identifiable stages through which patients pass. Physicians can enhance those stages by taking specific action. Understanding this process provides physicians with additional tools to assist patients, who are often as discouraged as their physicians with their lack of change.

Behavior change is rarely a discrete, single event; the patient moves gradually from being uninterested (precontemplation stage) to considering a change (contemplation stage) to deciding and preparing to make a change.

The Stages of Change model4 shows that, for most persons, a change in behavior occurs gradually, with the patient moving from being uninterested, unaware or unwilling to make a change (precontemplation), to considering a change (contemplation), to deciding and preparing to make a change. Genuine, determined action is then taken and, over time, attempts to maintain the new behavior occur. Relapses are almost inevitable and become part of the process of working toward life-long change.

Precontemplation Stage
During the precontemplation stage, patients do not even consider changing. Smokers who are "in denial" may not see that the advice applies to them personally. Patients with high cholesterol levels may feel "immune" to the health problems that strike others. Obese patients may have tried unsuccessfully so many times to lose weight that they have simply given up.

Contemplation Stage
During the contemplation stage, patients are ambivalent about changing. Giving up an enjoyed behavior causes them to feel a sense of loss despite the perceived gain. During this stage, patients assess barriers (e.g., time, expense, hassle, fear, "I know I need to, doc, but ...") as well as the benefits of change.

Preparation Stage
During the preparation stage, patients prepare to make a specific change. They may experiment with small changes as their determination to change increases. For example, sampling low-fat foods may be an experimentation with or a move toward greater dietary modification. Switching to a different brand of cigarettes or decreasing their drinking signals that they have decided a change is needed.

Action Stage
The action stage is the one that most physicians are eager to see their patients reach. Many failed New Year's resolutions provide evidence that if the prior stages have been glossed over, action itself is often not enough. Any action taken by patients should be praised because it demonstrates the desire for lifestyle change.
Most people find themselves "recycling" through the stages of change several times ("relapsing") before the change becomes truly established.

Maintenance and Relapse Prevention
Maintenance and relapse prevention involve incorporating the new behavior "over the long haul." Discouragement over occasional "slips" may halt the change process and result in the patient giving up. However, most patients find themselves "recycling" through the stages of change several times before the change becomes truly established.

The Stages of Change model4 encompasses many concepts from previously developed models. The Health Belief model,19 the Locus of Control model20 and behavioral models fit together well within this framework. During the precontemplation stage, patients do not consider change. They may not believe that their behavior is a problem or that it will negatively affect them (Health Belief Model19), or they may be resigned to their unhealthy behavior because of previous failed efforts and no longer believe that they have control (external Locus of Control20). During the contemplation stage, patients struggle with ambivalence, weighing the pros and cons of their current behavior and the benefits of and barriers to change (Health Belief model19). Cognitive-behavioral models of change (e.g., focusing on coping skills or environmental manipulation) and 12-Step programs fit well in the preparation, action and maintenance stages (Table 1).4,6

I heard this verse on television today funny because it was on espn, and thought it was a good one to ponder. Humble yourself, and fight the evil one, and God will send him away. That is amazing. I believe sometimes I can be overconfident, and not as humble as I should be. And that has gotten me into trouble in the past. As I got older, I started to understand that being humble and learning to serve others was a much better way to live. If you help others to shine, and have their moment in the sun, and help to boost their confidence is very rewarding. Some people have never known what it is like to be the best. I just believe that if I can help other people to feel good, then I have done my part in their life. If you give people alternative ways to spend their time, then they will not be tempted to sin as much as before. One of my favorite places to go is sacredspace.ie, and I sit down and pray and try to clear my head when I am in front of my computer, or I will read the bible, or listen to worship music, or go to mass, or pray at adoration, or call up a friend. I agree that when you seek god every day, it helps you to fight off the weaknesses you have, and the places where the devil will try to tempt you. Before you sin, your normally think about it. At the moment those thoughts enter your mind, you need to seek christ and pray for the spirit to strengthen you immediately.

Freedom of choice act, would force all hospitals even catholic ones to perform abortions, please pray that congress will not approve this act, and pass it on

For those of you who do not know, the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) is set to be signed if congress passes it on January 21-22 of 2009. The FOCA is the next sick chapter in the book of abortion. If made a law then all limitations on abortion will be lifted which will result in the following:

1) All hospitals, including Catholic hospitals will be
required to perform abortions upon request. If this happens Bishops vow to close down all Catholic hospitals, more then 30% of all hospitals in the United States.

2) Partial birth abortions would be legal and have no
limitations.

3) All U.S. tax payers would be funding abortions.

4) Parental notification will no longer be required.

5) The number of abortions will increase by a minimum of 100,000 annually.

Perhaps most importantly the government will now have control in the issue of abortion. This could result in a future amendment that would force women by law to have abortions in certain situations (rape, down syndrome babies, etc) and could even regulate
how many children women are allowed to have.

Needless to say this information is disturbing, but sadly true. As Catholics, as Christians, as anyone who is against the needless killing of innocent children, we must stand as one. We must stop this horrific act before it becomes a law.

The Plan :

To say a novena ( 9 days of prayer ) along with fasting
starting on January 11th. For Catholics, the prayer of choice will be the rosary with intentions to stop the FOCA. For non Catholics I encourage you to pray your strongest prayers with the same intentions,
also for nine consecutive days. The hope is that this will branch and blossom as to become a global effort with maximum impact. We have very little time so we all must act fast. Just do three things:

1) Pass this letter to 5 or more people

2) Do it in three days or less

3) Start the novena on January 11th and pray for nine
consecutive days.

(please also fast for at least two days during the novena)

Remember that with God all things are possible and the power of prayer is undeniable. If you are against the senseless killing of defenseless children then the time is now to do something about it!

We cannot live our whole life in a buzz of exhilaration, even religious exhilaration. Even a charismatic service, with ecstatic crowds and catchy music, can leave a morning-after feeling. As Joseph brought Mary and Jesus down to Egypt, dodging soldiers and footpads, the adoring shepherds and the jubilant angels were just a memory. In Jesus' parables, the kingdom of God advances not by fireworks and peak experiences, but by trickling increment, by quiet, organic growth like the mustard seed or the leaven in the lump. Thank you, Lord, for the high moments; but when they are past, let me be good leaven.

Sometimes that quiet, steady hand is the best way to lead. Being excited has its place, but on a day to day basis being wise with your actions and tongue is very important. If you do not have something important to say, then dont say anything. In the quiet you are able to hear the whispers of the holy spirit and our lord. Who can hear the other person in a conversation if you are constantly talking and demanding what you want, it is impossible. Many friends: Moms, dads, brothers, sisters, husbands, husbands, and wives was always push food on them. I tell them exactly what I'm telling you: Acknowledge these behaviors. Recognize the problems, sit the people in question down, and let them know that you are trying to lose weight and be healthy. Tell them how they can help and support you. Chances are they'll want to help and will be willing to learn new recipes so that they can cook for you without sabotaging your health and happiness.

We count on the people closest to us to support us through thick and thin. The fact that a loved one may be sabotaging your efforts to get in shape, whether they are conscious of their behavior or not, can be tough to swallow and address. Take a good look at your current significant relationships to see how they affect your life both on a day-to-day level and on a larger scale. Is anyone in your circle a food-pusher?

Sure, it seems innocent enough. These people may not realize what they are doing, or they may think they are doing it out of love. The bottom line is that their way of loving you is through food. It's time to stop it for good.

You have to be strong and say no when people offer you more food then you have selected for yourself. For example, just because a friend offers you a shot, you dont always take it. If you are already buzzed, you will probably turn it down.

Most addictions are perpetuated by the people we surround ourselves. If you smoke, you probably hang around smokers, if you play basketball you probably get up early on saturday mornings to ball it up for 4 hours, if you are overweight then you probably have friends that eat way too much, if you drink a ton, take a look at who is handing you those drinks.

Sometimes to make a lifestyle change we need to hang with new people. When it comes to food please ask me if you need advice. This christmas weekend, eat all day, but graze dont binge. What I mean is eat a small portion every 3 hours. Just keep going back to it, and it will still taste good, and by grazing you will fuel your metabolism to burn more energy, instead of storing it as fat for energy when you go more than 5 hours without eating. If your really hungry try drinking a glass of water, sometimes those hunger pangs are actually dehydration. If your urine is very yellow then you are most likely very dehydrated. When I drink water all day, the urine is clear like water.\

So enjoy all the goodies of xmas, but timing your eating is just as important in maintaining your energy level, and preventing you from getting food coma or needing to nap. Think of stoking a fire with wood, if you run out of wood, you run out of fire. But if you put all the wood at the same time, it burns fiercely for a few minutes, but then it is gone. If you put in a little bit of wood at a time, you can keep that fire burning all day and melting away calories of fat from your body.

They are like the darth vader of baseball. They have more money than anybody else because of their tv station. I hate the lack of a salary cap in baseball. Cause the same 5 teams or so always end up in the playoffs every year. And the same 6 teams are at the bottom of the standings every year. And then everyone else sneaks in once and awhile to win the world series.

I hope they miss the playoffs again...

I am sad that texeira left the angels for the yankees....he was really good last year for us.

I hope we can sign fuentes. I would like to see us sign manny ramirez too, or at least get another big bat in the lineup through trade.

I will still be rooting for the angels, but it just burns me that the yankees have so much more money then everyone else.

and I do find it amusing that their guys have admitted to steroid use in pettite and giambi, and we have all seen how arod has been in the news for an affair. The problem with buying and feeling you should get everything you want, cause you have money. Is that you never learn to live in moderation or temperance. You just take it, and feel that it should be yours. And that lack of reserve can cause you to be arrogant.

I will miss krod, but he turned down a good offer a year ago, and left for only a little bit more than the angels offered. His saves came from the angels offense, we will see if he will have the same success with the mets. I still believe the phillies are the best team in the national league.

Money cant buy love, and it cant buy the world series. The yankees have always had the highest payroll, and when is the last time they won it all. Just look at the tampa bay rays, they won with coaching, scouting, good trades, and good drafts. And all those minor league studs turned it into a powerhouse last year.

Berry Power Pancakes recipe for preworkout meal

I was messing around in the kitchen this morning and came up with this recipe

Pour Pancake mix (prefer wheat if possible) and stir with water, and
a scoop of strawberry protein powder
a dash of nutmeg
a dash of cinammon
and a teaspoon of flaxseed

heat the pan with olive oil, then pour mixture on oil, when the edges bubble flip the pancake

when you serve you can add more fruit, or maple syrup
do not use fructose corn syrup-- very unhealthy....

1 Corinthians 10:31 - Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God

If you put god first, before you make any decisions, then the results will be for god's glory. Try not to put selfish needs ahead of what god is calling you to do. I remember a quote before that said: if you have been called to do something specifically, and you do not do it, then it will be left undone for eternity.

Listen during your prayers, and follow the lead of the Lord. You might want to give up and just quit, but if you just pray and work one more day then maybe you will finally see the fruit of that prayer and effort.

And god can be found even in simple things like food and drink, and fellowship, fidelity, prayer, our jobs, our families, good health, shelter, clothes to keep us warm on a cold winter day. These are all blessings for us to be thankful for.

If you are focused on money, then with this current recession you may be feeling depressed, especially if your homes are about to be foreclosed. Just pray and understand that money is a tool, it is not necessary to love one another, and to love god for his blessings upon us. And I have lived both with a lot of money, and through financial and a legal crisis. God has been good in humbling me and teaching me that money is a tool and it is not the meaning of life. Love is the reason we are here, and god created each of us as newborn infants. Just as he sent his own son to love, teach, heal, care, and die for us.

7. you can improve your strength at any age, it is never too late to get started

most women stay on the cardio machines and the cardio classes....If you really want to be fit, and look fit, then head over to the free weights and machines and you will see and feel different very quickly. One thing I like for women is the weighted vests, you can remove and add weight depending on how strong you are, but you can use it while you walk around town, or when you go shopping, or just around the house when you are cleaning or gardening...very practical way to add resistance training to your daily activities

I dont like wrist and ankle weights, but the weighted vests are pretty cool. I dont like putting a lot of weight on joints that may not be strong enought to support the weights yet.

It is crazy how fast the years go by. We are about to meet the 3rd year since I joined singles for christ. I wanted to thank the lord for giving good health to my family. We were all able to eat together yesterday. Today everyone has already left the house. We have 3 dogs at the house this weekend, cause my brother brought his dog, and his girlfriend's dog.

I wanted to thank those of you who have helped me, and served with me, or counseled me on how I can improve. I do feel more peaceful and have that serenity. I watched kung fu panda yesterday, and there really is no secret to life. If you just try to be the best version of yourself, then there is nothing else left to gain.

I will continue to pray for jobs for all of my friends and family. I will pray for safe passage for loved ones in other countries. I will pray that you all have the opporunities you need to reach your dreams in life. I forgive you if you ever did anything with bad intentions towards me. And I pray that god forgives me for my sins.

I do enjoy the extra time spent with god during these last couple weeks. Going to daily mass is very different lifestyle. Sometimes I dont want to go, but I believe I needed it. It allowed me to try a new habit to see if it would change me.

Thanks for giving us food, and blessings and gifts lord. Only you know what we need, and I ask that you will give those gifts and talents to us at the proper time and place.

randolph is a good post player and I believe he would be a good addition to this team, to have someone who can go into the low post and put in 20 points and 8 boards every night.

I heard they are moving either mobley or camby, I hope they are moving mobley. Camby is probably the best player on the clippers right now, cause baron cant shoot so far, only like 34 percent from the field.

tim thomas is just very inconsisten if you ask me, so I dont mind losing him. And with mike taylor, gordon and ricky davis we have a bunch of guys who can play shooting guard. I wonder if randolph will start or come off the bench for the clippers.

a good article explaining the programs obama wants to support to protect life, children and prevent abortions. Some of my friends have been arguing with me about why I supported obama. But this website gives good explanations about ways obama wants to protect women and protect the lives of the unborn.

Honestly eradicating roe v wade will send women into back alleys to have abortions from people who are unqualified. But creating social and education programs, and creating health insurance for all children and women, and creating jobs for women will allow more women to have the babies safely and be able to take care of them if they have an unplanned pregnancy. Also educating women is a good way to reduce premarital sex and abortions. Americans seem to believe in a right to violence: whether that is guns, abortion, execution, euthanasia, war, hunger, poverty, homelessness, drug abuse, child abuse, violence towards women, rape, molestation, birth control. There are so many factors that create unplanned pregnancy and lead to abortion. We must remember that abortion is a reaction of desperation.

We must educate men and women to make better choices and to abstain from sex until they commit to marriage. Sex is not the only way to show love. In fact emotional bonding, trust, commitment, and responsiblity are much better measures of love. Touch, positive words of affirmation, gifts, service, and quality time will tell you much more about your partner, then a quick sexual encounter. And you dont need to have sex before marriage to be good at it. Good communication will help couples have a great sexual life even if they are virgins. Sex is a natural gift that can be learned by any couple that loves each other.

when you have been loved, it makes you want to fall in love. But the funny thing is not everyone wants to do that. When I was younger I just figured there would be a time and place for that. For the last 5 years, I have wanted to find a partner.

But then god surprised me, and made me take a look at my life, my habits, my emotional life, my physical strength, and my sins.

And slowly he peeled away layers of pain, and hurts that I wasnt even aware of. As the song goes, I will never know what it cost, to see my sins upon that cross. And I wept over and over again, as Jesus knocked on my heart. As I surrounded myself with people of strong faith, I wondered if I was even ready to take care of a partner and a family. There must still be some work I need to do on my own heart to prepare me to be a husband.

And then I had a very active day, exercising and when I woke up the cross I had on my chain, had fallen off of my neck. So I lived without that cross, but it felt wrong. I went shopping with my friend Billy, and while we were wandering around, I found a new cross. Not necessarily a better cross, but just a different cross. I put it on and it felt like a new beginning. And I found a ring, and I challenged myself to try a new way of living, a new covenant with my god.

And when I commune with my lord at mass I eat the pan de vida, and ask him to wash my sins away and prepare me for the work he wants me to do. I emptied my old cup of knowledge, and pray for god to fill me up with new thoughts.

Create in me a light that draws people unto me,

I believe prop 4 and prop 8 to be very important law making decisions that we have control over as california voters.

And of course we should vote for our next president.

And we will have others on the ballot as well. Please make the time to vote absentee or to vote in person. I cannot tell you how to vote, I just believe god will elect and create the policies that are necessary. But of course by now it is clear what some of my voting preferences are. But it takes millions of people across this state and country to create laws that we can feel good about, and that will create a change in our society, economy, and moral values of our families and children in the future.

Take care of yourself, try and exercise or if you have no time, then think about adjusting your calorie intake, eating healthy can make a big difference. eat 3 medium sized meals and 2-3 snacks in between meals for snacks I tell my client to eat fruits, veggies, nuts, trail mix, granola, yogurt, protein bars, protein smoothies this will keep you energy up, and help you burn more calories, because when you go 5-6 hours in between meals, you body thinks it is starving so it stores all your food as fat, instead of burning it as fuel also dont drink anything over 25 calories per serving avoid soda, drink less alcohol, drink tons of water and green tea, or milk stay away from juice or gatorade, those are high calorie drinks sometimes 100kcal per serving or more, Gatorade is only good for people who exercise vigorously every day to rehydrate themselves quickly. Try propel or powerade zero, or g2 if you want a hydraftion drink with flavor outside of water. when you go to restaraunts and pay 10 to 15 for a plate of food, eat half and take the rest home for dinner or lunch the next day. I always take food home with me when I go out, I never finish on purpose. Really you should only eat a piece of meat as big as your hand, most meals you get will have 2 to 3 fists worth of meat on the plate. This will also help you to save money on meals. So before you leave the house pack 2 or 3 of those snacks with you, instead of buying from the machine at your office..

at the end of the week if you have been good then go do something to reward yourself, it could be a food item, but better if it is a non food item, like some new clothes, or a cd or dvd, or a book, or whatever it is you like, reward yourself for being disciplined and taking care of your body

prop 4 is to protect children from having abortions without consulting a parent or guardian. It is so sad that our youth can currently have abortions without their parents knowledge.

prop 8 is to protect the definition of marriage as between a man and woman. If this fails then gay marriage will be legal. Some churches may lose funding because they dont agree with this view, and also teachers will have to teach kids that gay marriage is fine. In massachusetts a first grade teacher brought her kids to a gay marriage to watch. And one of the students came home to his parents and told them it is ok for boys to marry boys.

We may disagree on who the best team is for president. But I know many of you are prolife, and these two propositions can help in the prolife movement...

paskuhan thoughts

it was a good show. I didnt understand a lot of it, since it was primarily in tagalog. But they got such a good reaction from the crowd, that I have to assume it was a good message. They did some christmas carols and incorporated the children in the show. They were also selling some sweet joey velasco paintings, he did to paintings I liked of the last supper with jesus and with filipino children at the table. One of the paintings had the same last supper but with gawad kalinga houses in the background. They were selling turon, ube, bibingka, puto, and casava at the snack bar. I arrived at 10 am to help with setup. And I stayed till the show was over. Then a bunch of us went to roscoes' chicken and waffles. I got a thigh and a waffle. Also cha, tim, and oliver were at my table. The other table had randy, kara, christian, jun, cathy, ed, mai, charlie...hopefully I didnt forget anybody. I enjoy the waffles mostly, I wish they served some fresh fruit to go on the waffles, but its all good.

My brother offered me tickets to the lakers and clippers this morning, the game is at staples next wednesday. I am excited to see farmar, bynum, baron davis, camby and the rest of the clippers put on a show. I also have thornton, bynum, davis and camby on my fantasy team.

My aunt is arriving today at 9am from peru. Should be fun to have her here in america for a week or two. I am not sure how long she will be staying.

Oh one more thing, I got a letter from a class action suit, instead of cash they are giving us 100 dollars off of a computer that is at least 500 dollars. cell phone insurance is sweet, and passcodes can protect your loved ones information on your phone

If you are unlucky, or if you own expensive cell phones, I would highly recommend buying phone insurane. I believe in the last year and a half, I lost or had my phone stolen like 4 times. The first time I didnt have insurance, but every other time after that, I was able to replace my phone for like a 50 dollar deductible. If I didnt have it I would have to pay a few hundred dollars, cause you have to pay the retail price if you lose it or it is stolen without the insurance. I pay like 5 or 6 bucks a month for insurance. So for the price of a subway sandwich you can protect your phone.

Also if you have sensitive data or phone numbers on your phone I highly recommend using a passcode on your phone. It is kinda annoying, but I was less stressed having a passcode on my phone when it was lost, cause nobody can access or use your phone when it has a passcode, unless they know your passcode.

Just two recommendations for ways to protect the privacy of your family and friends on your phone.

The first time my phone was stolen, they used the internet for hours, bought ringers, and screensavers, and made calls. It cost me an additional 200 dollars in charges because I didnt have a passcode to protect myself fro thiefs.

It reminds me that we must find joy from within, in having the peace of christ, in knowing that he will not forsake you if you live or him. You might have lost all the money in your 401k, or are being pursued by debt collectors, or were damaged by the hurricanes in the southeast, or faced racism, or sexism. Through our trials and our joy, we must find our peace in christ. The father would never abandon his children. Realize that your trials are here to strengthen you and prepare you for a future full of hope. If you feel like you need more money, or a new car, or a bigger house, or new clothes, or power, or fame. Then you really need to look inward and find out why you are addicted to smoking, alcohol, pornography, strip clubs, drugs, sex, violence or anger. If you pray about it, then you will find your answers, seek counsel from someone you trust, and surround yourself with people who will support you.

When you see the face of god in the people who are your closest friends then you are on the right track. But when you surround yourself with people who support your addictions, your pain, or your anger, who make you feel sinful or guilty : then it is time to find new friends.

Did you find your friends at parties, or nightclubs, or when you were running with bad influences. Most of us know when we are doing something that is essentially wrong or damaging to ourself or others. The difficult thing is to make a lifestyle change to remove the actions that are hurting us. A couple years ago I was overweight. So I started making a conscious effort to give up on soda, and high calorie drinks, as well as to start going to the gym. And after a few months I started to see my body taking on a new shape.

If you give up smoking or drugs, you too might see your body change into something better then the few minutes of buzz you get from alcohol or smoking.

I have seen my friends who drink and smoke a lot. And the ones who are my age look a lot older than I do. They have killed off so many cells in their body and caused themselves to age faster. I gave up alcohol a long time ago, becaue I ended up in a police station. And I never wanted that to happen again. So I chose to abstain from alcohol. And I used to go to parties where people were taking drugs. And I just decided that those are not the people I want to surround myself with.

Is god enough for you?
I pose that for those of you who do not believe, or for those of you with addictions. When you get an urge to go to your habitual sin: take a moment to read the bible, or pray, or listen to praise music, or call your prayer partner. When the evil one tempts us, that is exactly the moment when we must pray and ask for his strength. Just know that god has planned better things for you. His wisdom is so much higher then our own thoughts.

Even if you are already married or in a relationship. Make sure god is present when you make big decisions. Because otherwise you will not be married for long. Or what if god took away your partner, if you dont have god in your life, then you could spin down a bad cycle if you were to lose your partner.

I am a firm believer in doing the little things each day, in building good habits everyday. To set your standards high, and expect greatness out of yourself, and then you will inspire others who see your service and the fruits of your faith.

If you are addicted to sex, then read about the theology of the body. For the body reveals god.
Are you using other people as objects for your own pleasure. Would you want people to do that to your mother or your sisters, or your daughters. Jerry Buss the lakers owner subscribes to playboy and partied with hugh hefner. But when his daughter took pics in playboy he didnt even read the issue. Your children will learn from your choices. You must lead your family to make good choices. Or are you only interested in forming a bond with yourself, and gaining pleasure for yourself. That is a selfish attitude. Would you trade a lifetime of masturbation for a relationship with god. I promise to you that if you develop your relationship with god first, that how you act and serve our lord will attract that special person into your life. Is your low self esteem and addiction to food or alcohol causing you to be overweight, and not as attractive as you feel you should be. Food can be as addictive as drugs and alcohol. A lot of people do what is called emotional eating and make poor nutrition choices, because they dont believe they can change their body,or that it is too late. I am a personal trainer, let me tell you firmly it is never to late to change your body. You just have to make new choices with exercise and nutrition. If you do the same thing every day, you will always get the same result. You need to make new choices to get new results including with the shape of your body and fitness. If you eat donuts, soda, beer, chips, and 500 calories coffee drinks: then you will get the so called beer belly that everyone dreads. Or if you watch tv and munch all day, you will have low endurance and a high body fat percentage. Stop watching tv, go outside, go for a walk, play sports, or better yet learn a new sport, find a workout partner, hire a persoal trainer, take a yoga class: do anything fun, but dont sit on your butt and watch tv all day.

Christians are known by what they do and not what they say. Create habits and a lifestyle that will attract others into a life with christ.

The early christians faced torture, and lions, and death for their beliefs. Are you willing to die for your faith, and do you have the peace in your heart to be courageous with your faith. If you died today, do you believe god would bring you into eternity with him?

food diaries and preparing for holiday season....

keeping a food diary every day, will help you lose weight, you will be more accountable to yourself and your trainer or your workout partner. People who keep diarys have lost up to 18 pounds in six months, those who did not keep diaries only lost 9 pounds. Responsibility, accountablity and diligence. The diary is evidence of when you cheated on your nutrition and when you did very well. If you are really good for a week, go buy yourself a reward that is not related to food: maybe clothes, a movie, a cd, go to a concert or go dancing or whatever you enjoy, so that all that writing is given a reward each week. Or my favorite shopping is to buy a smaller size belt, or pants, because your pants or skirts are too big now...I felt great when I started buying waist 30 pants, when I had been buying 34 a few months earlier. My dad wanted to buy me a gift when we went to vegas, and I asked for a new belt size which was 4 sizes smaller than what I used to wear. My belts were too big, I found that amusing.

Also for the winter you might want to check in with a trainer or a doctor prior to the holiday season, including halloween for all you candy freaks. And schedule a post holiday appointment with the doctor or trainer after january. People who do this will tend to manage their food better, because of the upcoming check up in january, or they will exercise during the holiday period.

And check the scale at the same time everyday. I do it in the morning after my shower, but you might prefer at bedtime before you sleep. Just take it at the same time everyday, and if you can afford it get one that does body fat percentage as well.
