H.R. 760 – the Filipino Veterans Equity Bill – has passed overwhelmingly in the Senate of the United States (96-1) and has yet to be called for a vote in the House of Representatives.

In this crucial point in history, we must remember that in 1941 our Filipino veterans were called to fight side by side with U.S. troops during World War II. To this day, 67 years later, our Filipino veterans still have not received the benefits and equity promised to them that they rightfully and justly deserve.

Congress convenes for a month long recess on July 31 to return to session on September 8. We MUST make sure that the bill is called for a vote on the floor BEFORE JULY 31 or else the momentum for passing (particularly before the presidential election) will be significantly diminished.

Together, by calling our respective Congresspeople, we can help H.R. 760 pass in the House of Representatives.

with gordon, deandre jorda, mike taylor, knight, paul davis, tim thomas coming off the bench

hopefully they can sign a few more free agents to balance the roster

I believe they will have a much better defense next year.
Gordon will probably play a lot, and take over the starting sg spot by midseason

I was sad when brand left, but now that they have brought two all stars this offseason, I feel alot better about their team. Hopefully we have a good season and challenge for one of the playoff spots next year.

I am looking forward to seeing them play next year. And a few days ago
I thought we were gonna have a huge hole at power forward, but I feel like we can do a lot better than we did last season.

Hopefully dunleavy will let baron push the pace on offense.

We don't know why John Paul II wanted to hide this picture for years. The Vatican published this picture recently, for first time. This picture was taken by one of his security guards just when the Pope was attacked and was falling down in his Papamobil. You can see the pain in his face.

Joaquin Navarro Valls, who is the one spokesman from The Vatican, said that they made a lot of studies for years of this incredible picture and of course about the quality of the developing of the picture because when it was developed nobody could see very well because the image was not clear. Finally, and after so many controls and being looking and checking by all the experts in photography (around the world), they decided that there were no tricks in it and today they give us this beautiful gift from our Mother of God.

theology of the body

I have been reading a book by christopher west, which is a beginners guide to theology of the body by pope john paul. I have enjoyed it so far. I recommend picking this book up if you are familiar with john paul's work on this.

I like that what I am reading seems to flow very well with what I have been learning with singles for christ. But it uses scripture to explain everything.

If you have been looking for a good book, I believe you can pick it up for like 11 dollars. The store in covina has them, as well as barnes and noble in montclair.

It is kinda hard to find, I went to a number of christian bookstores before finding it. You might be better off looking it up online.

I am kinda disgusted that barack obama is being compared to the antichrist and hitler. Where do you get that position. Are you listening to people who are racists or nazis who are spreading their message of hatred and discrimination to get that opinion. I mean if you listen to fox news, you will probably hear a lot of viewpoints about barack obama being evil.

obama is the first candidate for president that has come from a minority family. But he is also been a senator of the united states. He graduated from harvard. He has a family. And he says god bless america, every time he ends his speeches which tend to be very optimistic in his belief that america can be better than it currently is. Our country is hurting, so many people are unemployed or underemployed. Companies are sending jobs to other countries because they can exploit the laborers in those countries. Our current president is so committed to making change through war, without the backing of the united nations.

I dont know why you would call obama an antichrist or hitler. Hitler is one of the most evil men to ever step foot on earth. He dragged the whole world into war. And the antichrist would suggest that someone is able to reverse the blessings given by god and jesus to this world by his birth and resurrection.

I mean I understand if you dont like obama. Maybe you dont like his stand on some issues. Or maybe you dont like him because his family has had financial success.

But I for one find him insipring when he talks and when he votes on issues as a senator. But to compare him to antichrist or hitler, is outrageous.

Obama might have different views then you, but he is clearly not the most evil man on the planet. He writes about hope and change. Maybe that is what you are afraid of, a man who will go against the status quo and try to make our country a better place. Many people fear change, but that is exactly what obama represents. He is not getting money from the big lobbyists like oil and tobacco. He is getting it from regular people who never cared about an election before, and he is raising more money than mccain, because people have a reason to believe this country could be a better place if obama was president.

It is fine if you want to vote for mccain then do it. But I dont see anyone spreading messages of hate about mccain. And I could if I wanted to. But I prefer to just say that I believe in obama, and his agenda of hope and change, because that is exactly what our country needs. We need to invest in the labor and jobs for our people in america, we need to find a way to fight the rising costs of energy and oil, we need to work together to give our children hope for a better future. We need to know that minorities can take leadership of this country.

And we need to continue to bless all the people who listen when he talks, god bless america. I cannot think of any better way to end a speech.

Let us not compare candidates to hitler or the antichrist, I mean if he starts sending nuclear bombs on other countries then maybe that would be appropriate.

Obama is one of the first politicians that I can sit down and listen to and be inspired. The first time I heard him speak to open for Al Gore, I knew he was a gifted speaker then. And I
am glad he has been chosen by the voters to represent a new generation of leaders.

Do you want 4 more years of what we have now. Or do you want a president that wants our country to be better than it has chosen to be up until today.

lord jesus, help us to choose our leaders wisely and not spread message of hatred, but instead choose a messenger of inspiration and hope.

On july 4th, I try to pray for the soldiers on duty and those who have come back injured or killed in battle. They serve our countries through combat. All of those soldiers are willing to die for our way of life. I honor them for their service and their courage.

A few years back I thought about joining the military. I even went to talk to a recruiter at ucla, and watched the graduation ceremonies of their group of rotc at ucla. I was considereing it because at the time they were talking about drafting young men and women to serve. And my brother was over 18 at that time. So I told myself that if thomas is drafted then I would enlist as well. Thankfully the draft never came, so I did not choose a military life.

But later on, two of my cousins became interested in enlisting for the military. One of my cousins went through bootcamp, but they told me he was injured so they sent him home. Not sure if he will have to come back and serve once he is healthy.

Now I am a bit old for joining the service, so it likely would not happen now. Sometimes I wonder what would havppen if I had made that commitment to serve.

Now I find myself applying for jobs as a youth pastor and music minster. Instead of combat, it seems I am moving towards employment in god's army to pastor to young people. I pray that the interview goes well, I believe it would be a good place for me right now. I even offered to work with singles for christ and gawad kalinga as a full time worker, but so far they have not wanted me for that role. So I looked online for jobs in the catholic world. I saw youth pastor jobs that paid more in non catholic churches. But if I am going to pastor people, it would be better to pastor to catholics, becaue that is the religion I have been in since birth.

I pray that I will be helpful to the spiritual walk that these young people are going through at this time.

Thanks to all of the military soldiers on independence day. And I hope god will call me to be one of his soldiers and pastors in creating god's army to drive evil back into the darkness, and bring the light of jesus to these young people who are being molded into faithful adults.
