testimonial from my client Craig:
Hi my name is Craig & when I first joined 24hr Fitness Ronald was my trainer. I explained to Ronald my goals and he designed a training program to fit my abilities & achieve my goals. Ronald was very detailed on my workouts and always explained the purpose of each exercise & what body parts it would build. He was a "form nazi" in that he made sure I did my exercise correctly with good form which greatly reduced the risk of injury. It was very hard work and I would be sore the next day but that was definitely a good thing. Ronald was always positive & upbeat and was there to motivate and encourage me on throughout my training program. He is very knowledgeable in regards to fitness, training, & nutrition. I learned a lot about these areas thanks to Ronald. Ronald also has a great personality which is very important in a training relationship. I would most definitely recommend Ronald as a personal trainer based on my positive experience with his training program.Craig.

I feel like a kid again, lakers versus celtics should be amazing, showtime versus the irish
the big three: pierce, kg and allen against the triangle of pao, odom, and kobe
I believe the bench players will make the difference in this race, ray allen is starting to heat up again in the last game against detroit, and the lakers have dominated everyone in the playoffs
the celtics probably the best defense in the league, and the lakers have the best offense with the triangle of tex winter
I am excited to see this playoff.
My dad bet on the lakers to win the western conference title at 15-1 back in november, my sister maritess laughed at him when he made his bet, cause the lakers werent very good at that time
but he looks like a genius not with his bet
I bet this series will go 6 ot 7 games, I want kg to win a title, same with jesus shuttlesworth and the truth. They have all put in so much time in the league without winning a ring
Garnett has always been one of my favorite players to play with in video games, and to watch when he was a timberwolf. It is so easy to get pumped up by this personality on the floor, he leaves all of his emotions on the floor. And he can do pretty much anything he wants on the offensive and defensive parts of the game.
I thought kg should have won the mvp this year, but we will see who wins the title.
I love pau gasol and farmar and turiaf, even derek fisher and luke walton. But I have said it many times that I dont like kobe.
The celtics have leon powe, eddie house, sam cassell, james posey, kendrick perkins and rajon rondo behind their stars. Two of those guys were clippers in the past. I hope sam casselll gets to play in this series and hits some clutch baskets for the celtics.
I really just want to see a great series, I am excited about the finals for the first time in a long time. I am gonna tivo all the games. This should be a classic.
And I changed the background on my multiply page to a picture of garnett...I really want kg to win it all.
We will see what happens, but I love this game...
Hopefull this will be the start of an annual thing with the celts and lakers battling it out every year like they did in the 80s.
Should be a great way to end the 2008 season.
I say celtics in 7, with both teams winning all their home games
healthy eating habits
---eat every 3 hours
---have protein and complex carbs every meal (fruits, veggies, and wheat grains)
---drink 2 liters of water a day, dont wait till your thirsty to drink, stay hydrated, I normally go through a bottle of water every hour
--never miss a meal, especially breakfast, when you go 5 or 6 hours between meals, your body stores your food as fat to stay energized, i fyou eat every 3 hours it burns your food as fuel
---carry a cooler to with you to keep healthy food with you all the time: healthy snacks are fruit, nuts, veggies, protein bars, protein smoothies, protein shakes, yogurt, granola bars
---avoid white flour, and white sugar, white tortillas, white bread, white rice, get in the habit of buying wheat grains, wheat tortillas, wheat pasta, and brown rice
---dont eat anything high in saturated fat or trans fat
--avoid soda and high sugar juices
--consume healthy fats, like olive oil
--avoid alcohol, also high in sugar
--avoid high calorie food that is low in nutritional value
--eat fruits and veggies all day long for fiber, vitamins and antioxidants, try to eat many different colors of these to get a balanced serving of diverse vitamins
--proper portions, no super sizing of meals, when you eat meat the portion you should east should be the size of the palm of your hand, and the rest should be saved for 3 hours later, or the next day for lunch
--when I go out to a restaraunt, I almost always take food home with me, eat half and save the rest for later, it cuts the price of your meals in half and will help you stay lean
--a 15 dollar american meal is generally enough for 2 meals or two people at most restaraunts
god bless, and hope to see all of you getting leaner
a healthy body is 10% exercise, 10% genetics, and 80% proper nutrition
those 3 hours in the gym every week will not mean anything if you eat terribly for the 140 hours of the week

10 worst foods you can take in
2. marshmallow puffs
3. cola, soda, or carbonated drinks, diet soda
4. bacon, deli meats, processed meats, bologna, hot dogs
5. high sugar cereal
6. fruit juice and fake fruit drinks
7. potato chips, deep fried snacks, buttered popcorn
8. candy, cotton candy
9 french fries
10 twinkies
look at the back of the label of your foods
if fructose corn syrup is in the top3 of ingredients, then do not put it in your mouth
also if the food is high saturated fats, over 30% of daily value then try to avoid it
I know all of these foods taste really good, but they slow down your metabolism
regret nothing...
Regret nothing. Not even the sins and failures. When a man views earth's wonders from some mountain height he does not spend his time in dwelling on the stones and stumbles, the faints and failures, that marked his upward path.
So with you. Breathe in the rich blessings of each new day - forget all that lies behind you.
Man is so made that he can carry the weight of twenty-four hours, no more. Directly he weighs down with the years behind, and the days ahead, his back breaks. I have promised to help you with the burden of today only, the past I have taken from you and if you, foolish hearts, choose to gather again that burden and bear it, then, indeed, you mock Me to expect Me to share it.
For weal or woe each day is ended. What remains to be lived, the coming twenty-four hours, you must face as you awake.
A man on a march on earth carries only what he needs for that march. Would you pity him if you saw him bearing too the overwhelming weight of the worn-out shoes and uniforms of past marches and years? And yet, in the mental and spiritual life, man does these things. Small wonder My poor world is heartsick and weary.
Not so must you act.
This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind ...
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of
God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13,14

the best of life
I have seen so many wonderful things happen in my life lately. In the last two and a half years since I joined singles for christ. My life and service have helped to transform me. I have met so many wonderful people in community. And our mission to evangelize has brought me into many conversations with people about god and ministry and a life with christ. As I grow closer to god, he has given me so many blessings in the form of people, who I never would have met if I did not join sfc in december of 2005. Even in my sadness when my grandmothers both passed away, my friends came to attend the funeral. And even when I struggle with other parts of my life, I get a boost of energy by spending time with the community. It is like a second family. And I am just very thankful. Only god, jesus, and the holy spirit could put me in touch with so many amazing people.
So I lay down my journey for jesus to lead me. Walk with me lord, and carry me when I am weak. Otherwise let me lift the yoke you have given me to pull. For in struggle that is how we develop courage and strength. Just like in exercise, if you are always challenging yourself, then your body will develop into its strongest self. So it goes with the spirit, if you pray often, read the bible, and spiritual books, worship, heal, and minister and evangelize others then the holy spirit will give you energy.
I really desire to have my own family one day. Honestly I have met many amazing women in the last two years. Some of them live very far away from me, and some close. I know god wants me to have the best life possible.
I always pray about it, and just reflect on what I have learned. At one time I thought god wanted me to be a pastor. My hope is that I may fulfill that role through music ministry, and maybe after I am married I may look into becoming a deacon for the church.
He has sent me many employers who want to hire me lately. So I am thankful for those opportunities.
I will ponder all of the choices I have and discern and pray for me to make the best possible choice in careers and love.
If I could only have one day with you, would that be enough to ignite a fire in me. I have learned to be patient over the years. Lord please guide me to the best possible life here on earth.
Prepare me lord, cast away any evil spirits, and give me the courage to walk with you even in the face of evil.
I am a servant, soldier, and conduit or prayer. Allow me to touch people with your powerful voice when I sing. Allow me to help the poor through gawad kalinga. Keep my family healthy, give them every opportunity they need to be achieve their dreams in life. I genuflect before you when I pray for your leadership.
Thank you lord for so many blessings in this life.

usc athletes are dirty rotten scoundrels :)
I do wish college atheletes would get paid to play. They generate millions for the school and they deserve to be compensated for their athletic contributions. But I doubt the ncaa will ever agree to pay its athletes. If they did pay, less athletes would be in a rush to turn pro, and they could graduate more athletes. It would be good for the schools and good for the young athletes.

ok well looks like the lakers are gonna sweep utah, I dont believe they will be challenged until next round
When I watch the laker games I see them playing very well, and they share the ball and defend very well. I have to say I am impressed. I love gasol and walton and farmar, even turiaf and bynum. But I dunno if they will go to the finals. But I would not be surprised if they destroy the jazz this round. Their bench is giving them a ton of production.
The hornets look very good against the spurs. Should be a good conference finals if the hornets and lakers meet.
I would also like to see orlando and boston battle it out in the east, especially with billups injured, I believe orlando can still win that series. When orlando is hitting their three pointers they are a tough team to beat. Boston dominated lebron last game, if they can keep that up they should be able to beat the cavaliers.
Witness a Transformation
If you are the type of person who wants to help those in need, then click on this artice and see how you can start helping people today. If you want to run, or help fundraise, or be a volunteer to support our runners and bikers. Then this is your opportunity to make a difference and change the lives of people in need. My friend, lianne, has helped to build homes for the poor through heroes run. I volunteered to pass out water, gatorade, snacks and sing during the marathon last year. It is a great experience to be part of this transformation.
Ask not what your country can do for you, rather ask what can I do for my country...
I even went on a few training runs 2 years ago, I got up to 10 miles, then my job prevented me from training any further. But running every week, helped to to get in better shape. So you will improve the lives of others and you will improve your own physical body and cardiovascular strenght by being in the marathon.
Plus you will be running with other good people, and you might make some good friends on these weekly running groups.

donate clothes for families in need, sponsored by ksgn
Dear KSGN Family -
A couple days ago the news said unemployment in April wasn't quite as bad as the money guys had thought. Well, ask the person who lost their job last month - it's a different story.
Some folks are now looking for new jobs and many don't have appropriate clothes to wear to interviews - or to work for that matter. Others have kids growing out of clothes faster than they can wash them! These are just a couple of ideas to suggest how big the need is.
Here's how you can help:
KSGN is hosting another yard sale (aka Sell-a-Thon II) this Friday and Saturday to offer resources to our neighbors at affordable prices. Things like food and clothing are items most requested. We have a resource for food and hope you can help out with the clothing.
1) Clear out gently used clothing items you're not using anymore
2) Bag up your items and deliver to KSGN (upstairs):
Tonight (5/6) till 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 7 till 8 p.m. Thursday, May 8 till 8 p.m.
KSGN is off the 10 Freeway at the California Ave exit
2048 Orange Tree Lane, Redlands, CA 92374
800.321.KSGN * ksgn.com
3) Know you're doing something GREAT for the community and enjoy a cleaner closet!
Then, we'd love to have you join us at the yard sale. There's info below.
You can enter to win a $100 gasoline gift card! And, we'll have some fun items for last minute Mother's Day shopping! :)
a healthy grocery list to eat smarter
1 rotisserie chicken (cooked)
3/4 pound of pork tenderloin, or lean beef if you dont like pork, or 3/4 pound of salmon
bell peppers: red, yellow and orange
yellow onions 4 onions
mixed greens 4 ounce bag, I tend to favor the spring mix cause it has a lot of iron
portabello mushrooms 2 boxes
1 bunch of asparagus or broccolli or spinach
1 head of garlic
sun dried tomato pesto 8ounces
mozzarella 8 ounce bag, shredded
black beans 12 oz
brown rice 1pound
whole wheat pasta 16 oz
1 pack of wheat tortillas
1 jar of cumin
1 jar of nuts
1 box of orange juice
1 carton of egg whites
protein powder or protein bars for snacks
1 carton of yogurt
a bag of your favorite fruits, I tend to like mangos, blueberries and grapes, but pick whatever appeals to you, also great for snacks and desserts
soy milk or 1% milk
lots of water
green tea
roma tomatoes 1 box
1 carton of oatmeal
keep a supply of these as well
extra virgin olive oil
reduced fat mayo
low sodium soy sauce
peanut butter
balsamic vinegar
parmesan cheese
salsa
hot sauce
salt and ground black pepper
cinammon
maple syrup or honey, dont buy syrup that has fructose corn syrup like aunt jemima, maple is healthier and has some vitamins it as well as sweetening your food
read the labels of your food, dont buy anything high in fructose corn syrup, or high in saturated fat, the corn syrup will make you fat, and high saturated fat is very bad for your arteries, and cholesterol level
you should be able to mix and match these foods to create some great meals
eat something every 3 hours to keep your metabolism firing all day, and burning up all the fuel you put in
preworkouts eat some fruits for energy
postworkouts within 1/2 hour eat protein, either the bars, powder or meat, or nuts, or peanut butter or eggs
running tips for our gk heroes running the marathon
Most important for avoiding injuries is get proper shoes. Try different types of terrain, not always pavement. If you have a bad back try to stay on grass, trail, tracks, and treadmills.
Always warm up, walk for 5 minutes, before you start running.
Drink 6-8 ounces of water every 20 minutes while running. Muscles spasm when they are dehydrated. Also take deep breaths while you run, the more air you have then there will be more oxygen going to all your muscles.
Strengthen your abdominal muscles
Run against traffic so you can see the cars coming towards you.
Look at the driver of the car, make sure he sees you before you cross the street.
When you run at night where shoes and clothes with reflective stripes.
Drink or eat protein after your runs, to help your muscles grow after the workout.
benefits of running
1. danish research shows that regular runners are 34% less likely to die
2. risk of heart disease decreases dramatically for every 10 mile increment of weekly running
3. jogging for 30 minutes increases concentration and memory
4. running at least 3 hours a week causes a 30% lower incidence of erectile dysfunction
5. vigorous exercise will improve your mood, and you will be happier
6. have goals for your running, and enter yourself in a race, you are more likely to continue training and finishing a race give a great sense of accomplishment
run efficiently with good posture
eyes look straigh ahead, not at your feet
run tall with your head above your shoulders, shoulders over hips, and hips over feet
keep shoulders relaxed, dont let them rise to your ears
dont hunch over, or your pelvis will tilt forward
keep your hands loose, no tight fists, pretend your holding a small bird or an egg, with cupped hands
dont lift your knees too high, strides should have feet landing directly below your body
run lightly, if you are making a loud thud then you are overstriding
move arms forward and backward, not side to side, elbows at a 90 degree angle, and throw your elbows backward and forward for more speed, running without your arms will make you slower
stretch regulary, keep your core, lower back and legs loose

slam dunk contest humor, it looks pretty bad when it happened
but the girl looks ok after it happened, anyways thougth you might get a chuckle out of it
watch this high school girl throw down dunk after dunk
it is just a matter of time before the women who play ball keep getting more and more athletic. This girl in the video is impressive, I wonder if she has a good jumpshot too. I bet a ton of college programs want to bring her in already from her athletic ability. I wish they would make more women's sports leagues...the wnba effect is creating female athletes all around the country

my auntie tessie ferrer gave this story to me
There once was a man named George Thomas, pastor in a small New England town. One Easter Sunday morning he came to the Church carrying a rusty, bent, old bird cage, and set it by the pulpit. Eyebrows were raised and, as if in response, Pastor Thomas began to speak..."I was walking through town yesterday when I saw a young boy coming toward me swinging this bird cage. On the bottom of the cage were three little wild birds, shivering with cold and fright. I stopped the lad and asked, "What you got there, son?" "Just some old birds," came the reply.
The pastor was silent for a moment. "How much do you want for those birds, son?"
"Huh?? !!! Why, you don't want them birds, mister. They're just plain old field birds. They don't sing. They ain't even pretty!"
"How much?" the pastor asked again.
The boy sized up the pastor as if he were crazy and said, "$10?"
The pastor reached in his pocket and took out a ten dollar bill. He placed it in the boy's hand. In a flash, the boy was gone.
The pastor picked up the cage and gently carried it to the end of the alley where there was a tree and a grassy spot. Setting the cage down, he opened the door, and by softly tapping the bars persuaded the birds out, setting them free.
Well, that explained the empty bird cage on the pulpit, and then the pastor began to tell this story.
One day Satan and Jesus were having a conversation. Satan had just come from the Garden of Eden, and he was gloating and boasting. "Yes, sir, I just caught the world full of people down there. Set me a trap, used bait I knew they couldn't resist. Got 'em all!"
"What are you going to do with them?" Jesus asked.
Satan replied, "Oh, I'm gonna have fun! I'm gonna teach them how to marry and divorce each other, how to hate and abuse each other, how to drink and smoke and curse. I'm gonna teach them how to invent guns and bombs and kill each other. I'm really gonna have fun!"
"And what will you do when you get done with them?" Jesus asked. "Oh, I'll kill 'em," Satan glared proudly. "How much do you want for them?" Jesus asked. "Oh, you don't want those people. They ain't no good. Why, you'll take them and they'll just hate you. They'll spit on you, curse you and kill you. You don't want those people!!" "How much?" He asked again.
Satan looked at Jesus and sneered, "All your blood, tears and your life." Jesus said, "DONE!"
Notes: Isn't it funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.
Isn't it funny how someone can say "I believe in God" but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also "believes" in God).

choose your drinks wisely to lose pounds every week
------------------------------------
Two hundred gallons. That's the amount of liquid the average man guzzles each year. Approximately 34 gallons of beer, 53 gallons of soda, 24 gallons of milk, and a whole lot of gallons of other stuff.
Feeling a bit bloated? You should be. But the great thing about drinking so much is that all you have to do to lose weight is make a few adjustments to the types of drinks you're already pouring down every day. Juice with pulp instead of pulp-free. Green tea instead of regular.
Do it all and you're gulping 35,456 fewer calories in 4 weeks. That's a savings of 10 pounds.
So fill 'er up. This one's on us. And off you.
Unless you're an astronaut or a skinny 10-year-old boy, trade in your Tang, Sunny D, and pulp-free OJ for the thick stuff -- juice with extra pulp.
It may help you resist the lure of the office bagel basket. Researchers at Purdue University found that people stayed full longer when they drank thick drinks than when they drank thin ones -- even when calories, temperatures, and amounts were equal.
"Thicker drinks help to fight off hunger longer," says Richard Mattes, Ph.D., the study author.
Calories saved in 4 weeks: 5,460
Even if your taste in tea runs more toward Long Island than iced, there's a reason to consider adding a bit more of the stuff to your diet: It's a natural fat burner. But not just any tea will work.
You need to buy the stuff marked "green."
A Swiss study found that substances in green tea called catechin polyphenols can significantly increase your body's metabolism of fat so you burn the stuff at a faster rate.
You can drink prebrewed greens from Snapple, SoBe, or Arizona, but they're filled with sugar and average more than 200 calories a bottle.
Look for Honest Tea brand instead -- it has just 34 calories per bottle. Or buy tea bags and brew the stuff yourself.
Calories saved in 4 weeks: at least 4,872
Meal replacements really work. In a study presented at the annual meeting of the North American Association for the Study of Obesity, researchers found that regularly drinking meal replacements increased a man's chances of losing weight and keeping it off for longer than a year.
But which one should you drink? "Men trying to lose weight need about 600 calories per meal, with 25 percent of those calories from protein, 25 percent from fat, and 50 percent from carbohydrates," says Liz Ward, R.D., a Massachusetts nutrition consultant. That's about what you get from this drink:
Strawberry Power Blast
1 c low-fat vanilla yogurt
1 c 1 percent milk
2 tsp peanut butter
1 medium banana
1 1/2 c frozen unsweetened strawberries
2 tsp sugar
2 ice cubes or 1/2 c crushed ice
Directions: Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Blend on high speed until smooth (about 4 to 5 minutes). Drink immediately.
Per serving: 608 calories, 25 grams (g) protein, 106 g carbohydrates, 11 g total fat
Calories saved in 4 weeks: 9,856
mother teresa on discouragement
Don't give in to discouragement. If you are discouraged it is a sign of pride because it shows you trust in your own powers. Never bother about people's opinions. Be obedient to truth. For with humble obedience, you will never be disturbed.
