I find it sad that our sports heroes have so many vices. Drugs, sex, crime. Honestly it really surprises me that these guys continue to get paid at such a high level when their morals and choices are so bad for society at large. Drug use leads to irresponsible actions. Lust leads to abuse of women, rape, adultery, and exploitation of women and young boys, including prostitution or slavery of women. And violent crime and drunk driving leads to murder and death of innocent people. If nba players commit what would be a crime for regular people they should be fined a significant portion of their salary. They should have to live up to a code of ethics and behavior like doctors, or financial advisors, or lawyers do. All of our highest paid professionals have to sign documents saying they are dealing with the public in an ethical way. Athletes get paid more than 90% of our population and they should be held to a higher standard. If an nba player smokes marijuana he should have 40% of his salary donated to drug prevention non profit groups. If they are going to live like criminals then they should lose that enormous salary they are being paid by the public through television and consumption of sports through merchandising, tickets, and broadcasting. Playing a sport for a living is a privilege, it is not a right. And if anything these guys should be held to a higher standard, because they are being paid like they have more value then most people in society.
If you cheat on your wife, you should donate 40% of your salary to kids with no parents, adoption centers and abused women shelters. And so on, they could earmark the money to be used to benefit society when our athletes commit crimes.
To me drug use, violence, drunk driving, adultery are all crimes that should be penalized by the nba for having allowed these men to be a destructive element in their community.
I believe nba players would pay attention to criminal laws if they knew they would be penalized 40% of their salary. And if they still commit crimes then throw them out of the league and bring in men who will respect the community and still put on a good show on the court. I want to root for good guys, not criminals that are good at basketball. That is why I have such disdain for guys like kobe bryant, that have everything I could ever want and then cheat on their wives and children. Or carmelo anthony who drives under the influence putting every citizen in denver at risk of death while he drives his mobile weapon on the road. And now josh howard is taking illegal drugs, cause in his opinion nobody is gettin hurt by his drug abuse. But isnt driving under the influence of marijuana just as bad as alcohol. How can it be any better to drive under the influence of drugs.
I love pro sports, but I hate how often we have to hear about these athletes commiting crimes. I am running out of guys to root for these days. Almost every team has at least one guy who is or has committed a crime. I dont want to pay money to watch criminals. I could just go down to the prison in chino and watch them play, what is the difference.
I want to love these athletes, but I cannot even respect them for being good citizens. I dont wear my jason kidd jersey anymore after he tarnished his wife's reputation in public and divorced her. I dont care if he is a great point guard, if he does not honor his commitment to god and protect his wife. Ason kidd is the the man with no j, no jesus in his life.
That is why I hate seeing young college kids going to the nba with millions of dollars before they learn how to be men of respect and honor. They end up using their financial power to make colossal mistakes, because athletically they are ready to play, but emotionally and spritually they do not have the humility and spiritual strength to guard and care for all of that financial power they have been given. They would be better served becoming men and making mistakes that regular kids make as they grow into who they are supposed to be as men. Money only magnifies the weaknesses they have. In a good man, money empowers them to do good and help many people. But in a weak man, money leads to criminal or immoral activities because they are selfish and self-seeking.
And I focused on basketball but you will find similar violations of thes laws in baseball, football and hockey and soccer. I just know the names in the nba because I follow it the whole year round. And because I love watching the nba as much as I do.
If a man will cheat on his wife, he will also cheat on his team and his league ie gambling on games, taking steroids, faking injuries, getting coaches fired, blaming the losses on their teammates. Once a cheater, always a cheater. why would you change your behavior if the league you play in pays your 10 million a year even when you commit crimes like the ones I have mentioned earlier in this article.
Take away the money, take away the privilege to play from men who prove their unworthiness.
Let them get regular jobs. I am sure there are plenty of guys who smoke marijuana that dont work in the nba. They can get jobs outside the nba and smoke as much marijuana as they want to. I cant stop them from smoking marijuana, but I can kick them out of the league.
Politician get kicked out of office for committing crimes, sports leagues can do the same thing, no tolerance should be the policy of every sports league. That will protect our children so they can aspire to be like these athletes, so they can yell and cheer and wear their names on their shirts.
for all the good men in the league, you are the reason I come to watch the games....

testimonial from my client Craig:
Hi my name is Craig & when I first joined 24hr Fitness Ronald was my trainer. I explained to Ronald my goals and he designed a training program to fit my abilities & achieve my goals. Ronald was very detailed on my workouts and always explained the purpose of each exercise & what body parts it would build. He was a "form nazi" in that he made sure I did my exercise correctly with good form which greatly reduced the risk of injury. It was very hard work and I would be sore the next day but that was definitely a good thing. Ronald was always positive & upbeat and was there to motivate and encourage me on throughout my training program. He is very knowledgeable in regards to fitness, training, & nutrition. I learned a lot about these areas thanks to Ronald. Ronald also has a great personality which is very important in a training relationship. I would most definitely recommend Ronald as a personal trainer based on my positive experience with his training program.Craig.
